When does practice / 2 a days start???????

FROM OHSAA.........Football schedule

June 1 - July 31 Coaching Contact - 7 days
7 on 7 non-contact permitted
* Note: OHSFCA 7 on 7 tournament does not count as one of the 7 days

Uniform and Equipment may be distributed prior to first day of practice

July 31 First Day of Coaching & Practice - "Two a days"
Helmets, Shoes, Shorts - No Contact

August 2 Helmets, Shoulder Pads, Shoes, Shorts - No Contact

August 3 Mandatory Day OFF

August 4 Helmets, Shoulder Pads, Shoes, Shorts - No Contact

August 5 Full Equipment - No Contact

August 6 First Day of Contact Practice

August 8 First High School Scrimmage Permitted
* Note - Maximum length is - 3 hours for 9-12th grades

August 12 First 7th-8th Grade Scrimmage Permitted
* Note- Maximum length is - 2 hours for 7-8th grades

August 16 Second & Final High School Scrimmage Permitted
* Note - Scrimmage Length

August 18 (Mon) Regular Season Begins

October 31 & November 1 Quarterfinals - Tournament Begins

November 28 & 29 State Tournament

Not much "contact" permitted before the games start. Looks like the OHSAA would want a little more contact to get kids ready for what they'll endure in a game.

I agree. It seems to get later every year. Teams with established patterns from middle school up will gain from this. Not much more to learn but speed and execution. Too bad, spread offenses will possibly suffer because it takes awhile to get the timing down. BUT, 3 yds and a cloud of dust, u gotta like it!!
