Need input for this years chicken_coop's TOP 10....

Post by coop »

Being stationed in New Orleans, I'm "kinda" out of the loop, but I find out what I can about teams and I pay attention on here so I'm looking for legit input on your team (returning starters, new contributors, fav. schedule, new coach, etc.) to form my top 10. Send me realistic expectations! Looking forward to hearing from you all. PM me the info!!

Looking forward to this season!!

Using the 70-23 model for southeast Ohio and not technically district membership:

In no order some teams I'd consider:

Wheelersburg
Ironton
Piketon
Logan
Lancaster
Amanda
Jackson
Nelsonville
Chillicothe
Circleville

Two exclusions to 70-23 rule, but both SE district members:

Westfall
Miami Trace

I know Wellston wont make anyones top 10 ,but they will be much improved from a year ago . They have all their starters returning(the ones who choose to play) plus a very good freshman prospect comming in from Vinton County that should make a impact he is a beast. I think Wellston can go 5-5 if things go well for them. This is a tough schedule for the Rockets .
1. Jackson - H
2. Minford - H
3. Waverly - A
4. Nelsonville York - H
5. Belpre - A
6. Vinton County - H
7. Athens - A
8. Gallia Academy - A
9. Meigs - A
10. Alexander - H

Hey Coop Hows baby coop doing?

On to football, Now I have been with you almost 5 years now on this top 10 and have yet to steer you wrong. so I think it is high time you listen to me in the beginning instead of waiting until playoff time to show everyone I was right :-D :-D :-D

Now the Westfall mustangs should top your list to begin with because they were the regional champs last year AND took out you number 1 wavrley from the list in round 2, Just though I would point that out

Here is what the line up is starting to look like for the mustangs, a few returning starters and all with lots of varsity experience of 2+ quarters per game last year. after Westfall took their lead.

The starting line up will look something like this:
QB D Cain Back up QB:M Near
receivers: T Cobb,B Cline,B Gibson,
Plenty of size and speed on the line
O Line: M Riffle,S Mills,B Bowling,A Baily,S Moore
Defense: M Riffle,S Mills,B Bowling,A Baily,S Moore,
With:N Hawk,N Hamman,M Near,S Salvito,J Semore,
Special Teams, K Pukett kicker,punter.
Special Teams return Cline,Gibson,Hawk,Near,Hamman Very fast special teams there.

Portsmouth has a young team, but LOADED with talent....my prediction last year, was..we would not lose to any team in Orange and black..and even as young as we are, my prediction is the same for this year 8) ...

thats right......even with the young guns, I still predict another great season for the Trojans, with more to follow for the next few years.

Even though they are D6 you can add East to the list, return three All-State players as well as just about everything from last years team in which what they lost they will be just as good if not better than what they lost last year. As well as a new coach in Larry Hall for the Tartans.
