That's a shame they won't be in the playoffs.

Re: Who makes the playoffs ?
Unless the Ironton Fighting Tigers severely underachieve this season, they will make yet another playoff appearance.
This would be the 26th appearance in the 37-year history of the OHSAA playoffs, a figure not exceeded by very many teams.
Trivia question: Which public schools have been in the playoffs more times than Ironton?

Gray Fighting Tiger... I think you have a "trick" question there. Isn't the answer nobody?

You are correct on both counts, Mr. CranstonLamont Cranston wrote:Youngstown Mooney is not a "public" High School...
*** All statistics are believed to be correct but cannot be guaranteed; also, apologies in advance for any omissions ***
Mooney, by the way, has 21 playoff appearances.
And, there are only two schools, both private, that have been in the playoffs more times than the Ironton Fighting Tigers; namely
Newark Catholic (30 times)
Cincinnati Moeller (26 times)
then comes Ironton with 25
Mooney and Mogadore with 21 each
Cleveland St. Ignatius, Steubenville and Wheelersburg with 20 each
a few other teams you may have heard of, in no particular order:
Coldwater (13)
Versailles (16)
Hamilton Badin (16)
Germantown Valley View (14)
Newark Licking Valley (11)
Columbus Desales (18)
