West is for real. Week 10 showdown will be a good one. Im glad the SOC is making an impact this year. Hopefully all three teams get passed the first round UNLESS, of course, they play in the first round.. i would love to see a burg/minford rematch..

At 8-2 if you look at who the teams Minford plays ahead of them and who behind them, Minford will be in but not a home game.

If Minford wins out and a couple of teams ahead of them lose, which is quite possible, then they are in. At this point, Minford can only worry about Minford and not what anyone else is doing. If you take care of the little things, the big things will take care of themselves. Minford has to take care of the little things first though which is what they haven't done the past 2 weeks. Time to get back to work and focus on this week's game. Don't look past the Mohawks.

Liberty Union may very well be the sleeper in this region. Other than West Jefferson, they are destroying every team they play (including Berne Union 42-0 who beat the #1 ranked team Nelsonville).

Liberty Unions wins come from sub 500 teams. The Buckeyes had a hiccup against Burnt Onion. Of all the teams in 5/19 I personaly would like to see the Buckeyes of Nelsonville-York play YOU in the playoffs as that would be a gimme!!!

You guys are getting all worked up over nothing. I was by no means bashing NY by stating that they got beat by BU and LU handled BU with ease. It's not like that. I'm just stating that this region could go to ANYONE...regardless of record or wins and losses. It doesn't matter if you're the #1 team or the #8 team, any of them are capable of winning the region. And NYBux...Have you seen LU play? I really don't think it would be a gimme for either team. Matter of fact, in this region no team will have a gimme win.
By the way, me changing my avatar has NOTHING to do with being a bandwagon fan. If you really want to know why I changed it, here ya go.... I used to be a coach at FU and I was just hired this summer as a coach at LU. And no, not football. Therefore my new allegiance is to the Lions and those student athletes.

I'll help out. Teams that NY has already beaten through week 8 you get all their 1st level points as your 2nd level points.
NY starts this week with 30.5 1st level points and 120.5 2nd level points from the 7 wins.
Considering a loss to Ironton, and a win over VC, NYs 1st level points should be:
30.5 + 5.0 (div 3 VC)=35.5/10 games in season = 3.55 pts.

Now, I feel that the teams NY has or will beat end their seasons doing this:

Trimble will beat southen and Miller. 2 div6 tms = 3.5 x 2 = 7pts
Piketon will beat huntington 1 div5 tm = 4.0 4pts
Wellston will beat alexander 1 div4 tm = 4.5 4.5pts
Meigs will beat wellston and Belpre 1 d4 and 1 d5=8.5 8.5pts
Belpre beats Athens 1 d3tm = 5.0pts 5pts
Alexander beats VC 1 d3 tm=5pts 5pts
Athens loses out
remaining teams you will prob beat:
VC loses out but you get their 1st level pts of 4.5 4.5pts

Minford should win out vs 1 d4 and 1 d5 = 4.5+4=8.5 +25.5=34/10=3.4 1st level pts

River Valley beats 1 d4 team = 4.5pts
Wellston beat 1 d5 = 4pts
Huntington lose out
Coal grove beats 2 d4 tms = 9pts
Oak hill beats 2 d6 tms = 7pts

Remanining teams Minford should beat:
Northwest loses out but Minford gets 3.5 1st level points
Valley loses out but they had 5 wins and Minford gets their 1st level points of 21.5

4.5 + 36 = 40.5/10=4.05
49.5+104=153.5/98(greenup county has 2 weeks that Burg cant get pts) = 1.566 x 10=15.66

15.66 + 4.05 = 19.71 total pts

Hard to tell, take the math for other teams in reg 19 and try and figure who will have what score. of course, it all depends on who wins what games, but you can use Joeeitel.com and figure the teams possible wins the next 2 weeks and see where your team will land. I think NY is in good shape for a playoff but I dont know where they will be seeded. i will include a couple more teams tonight to try to help.

My projection for the SOC II, is that 3 teams get in.

(8) Minford @ (1)Portsmouth West/Burg winner first round.

However if Ridgewood finds a way to defeat an undefeated Malvern ballclub on the road(Which I don't see happening), and Bishop Ready wins up at Bishop Hartley week 10, then the Falcons are in trouble.

I believe the falcons win these next 2 and slide into atleast the 8th spot, maybe the 7th with a Ready loss week 10.

I'd say the kids are just ready to win these next 2 and get to week 11. Go out and get another shot. Being a minford guy, and growing up in the area, I'd say they want another shot at Wheelersburg, not because they don't want west. But burg just means more to Minford kids. However either west/burg, I think the kids come out hungry to compete and "survive and advance"
