Thoughts and prayers from this household. Get well to both boys, they are great kids and really good athletes that were put into an unfair situation.

Also, kudos to the med staff on the sidelines as the initial response was preventative decision to keep him off the field. Imagine what could have happened if not for the insight of our med team. Great work guys. Once again prayers go out for these fine youngmen.

Just found out that Kruize comes home today or tommorow. He will be bed rest for 2 weeks and out of activities for 2 or 3 months. My wife works with his mom Vicky. Apparently also when they took Kruize to Saint Mary's they sent him home saying nothing was wrong. They didn't run any tests on him. When he got home they noticed blood in his urine and then took him to Holzer where they ran tests and found the tear. I think this young man had an angel on his shoulders because this could have been worse than what it is. The worst thing out of all this is that it will kill him to know he can't play. He has to remember though there is always next year.

I am sure he will be rooting on the BLUE on the radio and he will certainly be an inspiration to the team to keep on competing !! Kruize is a good young man and has to look at this as one of life's challenges--- he will be back!

Kruize is home resting comfortably now (with the assistance of pain medication for a few more days). His blood work was completely normal today, and he will be back to school this coming Monday. Kruize sees the Urologist at NCH in two weeks. At that visit, Dr. Fabio will determine his release date for sports.

We, as well as Kruize, sincerely appreciate everyone's concerns and prayers. Numerous football players, friends, and parents came to see him at NCH, and he received many calls from friends, family, and coaches. We are so thankful that Dr. Mike Canady and Dr. Glenn Fisher were able to accurately assess his condition. As Kruize was warming up on the sidelines to go back into the game, they both expressed their reservations and then insisted we take him to the ER. Although the first ER failed to accurately diagnose him, it kept him out of the game and from sustaining further injury. Thankfully, the following day, Holzer's ER found the laceration on his kidney and had him transported via ambulance to NCH.

Again, we are so thankful that not only Gallia County, but its surrounding counties have so many caring individuals who kept Kruize in their prayers. Kruize knows how lucky he is and feels very fortunate to be surrounded by such wonderful and caring friends and acquaintances.

May God Bless You All!
