Come on over to the TVC Ohio. I thought that the NY Ironton game was sweet.

A good mix of D4 and D5, It would be a very interesting league
that could be a interesting conference but IMHO it would come down to portsmouth, ironton, burg and maybe west to win it. i don't see minford, piketon or coal grove beatin ironton. waverly could

You only have to play 5 conference games to go for championship and inter-conference doesn't count and the 5 conference games are determined before the season (seeing that all of these teams play each other anyway.)
You couldn't make the playoff's if you were in this league...southpoint fairland and rock hill...that would be like playing canadian teams and not getting the div 1 points

Tom...Ironton had the worst teams that you are going to see out of an ironton sqad for a long time to come the past three years...if Ironton would stay in the league...I feel that Ironton would not only compete...they would run away with the seoal for some time to come...I think most teams are not going to want to put ironton on their schedule at least till the third graders are graduated...

Yeah...right, that's why they are leaving then huh?
Oh, now we talk tuff and want to make predictions again.
Didn't we hear the same thing in 2004 on here when Ironton said yes to re-joining the SEOAL a 3rd time starting in 2006? That, if memory serves me right.... they were going to show everbody what football was about.
Chillicothe
2008 Chillicothe 17 Ironton 9
2007 Ironton 34 Chillicothe 9
2006 Chillicothe 47 Ironton 14
Logan
2008 Logan 35 Ironton 10
2007 Logan 53 Ironton 14
2006 Logan 7 Ironton 0
Zanesville
2007 Zanesville 45 Ironton 22
2006 Ironton 48 Zanesville 7
I think that would just be the reversal. Lets see if the Fighting Tigers keep the likes of Chillicothe and Logan from the (SEOAL) and Zanesville who goes back as an (Independent) next year on their FOOTBALL Schedules after Ironton leaves the SEOAL in 2010. I doubt very much that they will.

Logan would beat an Athens county team on a regular basis. Athens COUNTY would get more than 5 wins in the past 25 years against us though. More like.....ehhhhh, 10 maybe.

Re: YOUR IDEAL LEAGUE
You didnt have the worst teams in a 3 year span in Ironton history, you just finally got a schedule that wasnt loaded up full of KY teams. I know you guys would have been on here thinking you were world beaters had you played the schedule you had as an Independent because you'd went 8-2 at worst and been shootin off your mouths and been kings of the world.
I think we've got you guys convinced now that if we played for 10 more years we'd even up the series and pass you guys in the wins column and you couldnt pull the we've won more games card. But lucky for you guys your going to leave the league, we wont play anymore and you'll still pull that card even though we've spanked you 2 of the 3 years we've played and beat you all 3

Re: YOUR IDEAL LEAGUE
grizzlynatural,
This is new to me. We don't usually agree....but I am 100% with you on that post. I was really excited that Ironton came back into the SEOAL. Due to their tradition and all. I noticed this has happened more than once now.
THE CHEST BEATING HAS STARTED NOW THAT THEY ARE LEAVING A 3RD TIME.
So I assume by lets say, 2012 or 2013 we will see them beating the Fighting Tiger BELL on here, telling us all how great they are again, after defeating Russell, Ashland, Greenup, Boyd and Belfry Kentucky in one season.
I have to agree; if Ironton stayed in the SEOAL....Logan would catch up.

Portsmouth's ideal league.......the league we are in right now......the SEOAL!!!
If we were not in the SEOAL, I would love to see the OKAC get back together........all 3 major sports produced state champions during its existence.........
football: Ironton 1989, Ashland 1990
basketball: Portsmouth 1988
baseball: Boyd County 1992

Being a MSL guy from waaaaay back. I like it. I played when we had the Cardinal and Buckeye. Each year you played 2 teams from the other conference. Buckeye CAv mentioned that Chilli would never leave the SEOAL, but I think they would hop on an invite to the MSL in a minute. They've tried before, but were rejected I believe. That was long ago, but now with the growth of the MSL, it would be a much better fit.
This scenario is pretty good. I'm sure some schools wouldn;t like it though. It seems pretty fair to me.
I would like to see Liberty Union and Millersport consolidate. LU tried to get them to several years ago, and I bet some of them wish they would have. They are in some pretty rough times over there on the lake. Those 2 schools would've made a great D4 school. Put the new school on St rte 37 between Baltimore and Millersport or heck, put it in Thurston. The towns are only minutes apart.
I'd say in every division you have made up, every team could possibly be a league champion at one point or another except for Millersport in the Cardinal and Lakewood in the Ohio.Court House would have trouble too IMO.But, every other division looks like anyone could have a shot year in and year out.
Good job bman.
