This was Ironton's game to win or lose. The completely controlled the speed of the game. Only mistakes kept the score respectable. Coshocton's offense was impotent for most part. Good win for the Tigers against a good team. Good tune up for next week.

It seems like it very well could happen. The Tigers are always welcome at Boston Field. Good luck next week with Highland.

Go Bucks!!!!

Looks like some good match-ups for round 2 in region 15.

Good Luck to our friends from NY tomorrow night, IMO we will see you next Friday night.

Pretty chippy game with all the personal foul penalties.

From Sparta to Nelsonville - 84 miles, 1 hr 41 minutes.
From Ironton to NY - 94 miles, 1 hr 52 minutes.

Can't get much closer to the middle than that.

LOL, Bucks, I am not tailing you!! I said Cincy since it is closer to Highland cause Ironton seems to get the bad draw for rd 2!

Highland is close to Columbus how long is it for Ironton to get to Cincy? Would be close to a 3 hour trip for Highland to Cincy

In my opinion, not a lot of respect shown for Ironton in that article, either by the Coshocton coach or the author. At least Ironton was referred to as "Fighting Tigers" once.

Did anyone else notice the following:
"The Tigers finished second in the Southeastern Ohio League with an 8-2 mark." Not bad for a team not even in the league.

I think putting Ironton in a week 12 game in Cincinnati or Columbus would be too absurd even for the OHSAA. But then again, we've had worse things happen regarding playoff sites.

Anyway, I'd guess it'll be at Jackson or N-Y.

Tigfan wrote:Great post Tigergrad. I agree w/ you. I expect the skins to come out fired up. We need to play our game and take care of the ball. I do thinks its a little ballsy to call out our pass defense as a weakness by their coach. Thinking it is one thing saying it is another. Thats gonna come back to bite them. My prediction is our D will have 1 or 2 picks this evening and will lay the lumber on their receivers. I expect a W and hopefully we pull away in the 2nd half. Go Tigers
I think this gets the weekly "Hitting the Nail on the Head" award. Good post.

I suppose they were expecting a huge crowd. As it turned out, there were lots of good seats as late as 7:30 and beyond, especially on the visitors side.
