What a great night.
Extremely large crowd.
Two good teams.
A very good location for a playoff game.

Loved the way both teams came out and played especially on the first drive for each team.
It appeared from where I stood both teams played clean and beat the heck out of each other.

Wanted to say to the two guys from Nelsonville I met tonight, who is charge of firing off the cannon, you two are good people.

The name of the pizza place we talked about is Park Pizza.

Great game to watch on STO!! #3 for Athens is a beast and TV qb should be commended for one heck of a performance. I like both teams defenses!!! Great Dlines and it just showed how Athens D made the stops later in the game to allow Athens offense to pull away. A lot of penalties on offenses but shows how tough the Dlines were rushing the opposing QBS. Good luck to Athens in finals vs Desales. Great to watch Tri Valley on tv. Great job!

But Athens78 says the Bulldogs can't play with a Columbus team. Didn't Athens beat Steubenville this year, at Steubenville? And how many points did they put up on the Big Red.

I agree on the Defense. But I think the Offense was better than ok they put 41 on a team that had only given up 48pt.in 11 games

Tri-Valley killed themselves when they go from potentially scoring at the end of the second half & getting the ball back at the start of the half to giving a score up. Hats off to defensive coordinator Matt Goodwin, while the Athens offense gets all of the (deserved) love, the Bulldogs defense is what won the game for them and will have to play as well, if not better to take the state championship.

I agree the D did what it had to do in the second half after the adjustments were made. Our line has been outsized by some of these teams from day 1 and they continually fight hard against the double teams and traps they go up against. I gotta give some credit to #53 Kris Garlock and #57 Colter Thompson both of these young men have played the entire season every game starting on the Offensive line and at Defensive Tackle/Nose Guard. Congrats Bulldogs, keep the train a-rollin

Steubenville isn't even close to the top DII schools in Ohio. Athens best win this year comes from a DIV team in Steubenville. Good luck with the speed of Desales defense which has been Athens down fall in the last two regional finals. History is not on their side.

Two even teams in the first half. Not sure why Tri Valley didn't punt the ball away at the end of the 2nd quarter to give Athens a longer field to work with..that gave Athens a ton of momentum. 2nd half was all about Athens defense. They looked like a completely different unit in the 3rd and 4th quarters.. The players and coaches deserve a lot of credit for that. I question some of Athens offensive play calling in the 4th quarter.. Just seems like they did everything backwards of what one would expect, which may have been the plan. I thought when they got the ball back up 2 scores with 5 minutes to go, they should have ran the ball with burrow and Williams to force TV to use their timeouts and there were some other calls that left me confused, BUT that's why I'm not a football coach playing for a regional championship next week. Good game by Athens.. Very fun game to watch.. TV's crowd was unreal.. I was standing on the Athens side and they were still piercing my ears. Tough way to see their season end, but they lost to a great team. Hopefully Athens doesn't have a let down next week. Game should be in Logan since Athens will be the home team.. Here's hoping.

Next week will be VERY close just because of the way the stallions play. Athens will have to take advantage of their limited opportunities.
