Unless Athens has a let down thinking the TV game was a defacto regional final they should be fine.

The winner of DeSales or Jackson was going to have their hands full, neither team being built to trade scores with Athens.

DeSales has a punchers chance (that is why they play) but will need some help from Athens in missed assignments giving DeSales some long runs or turning the ball over. Otherwise it will be an uphill battle I think. DeSales passing game is effective because of the deception in not knowing it is coming...if they are forced to throw if they get down a couple scores Athens will defend it well. Tight end releasing after 6-8 runs and sweeps in a row when they lure you in and don't expect it is when they are most effective.

I think after a couple years of Athens pounding on the final four door, it will open and let them in.

The stubenville game will be at Zanesville. This will be one of 3 places, Hamilton township, gahanna, or reynoldsburg.

Also Speed on defense is what's beat Athens the last two years in the regional finals. Desales has plenty of that. No call on this game but will be much closer than most predict.

Its gonna be closer to Desales than Athens lol

Since from what I'm hearing Steubenville will be playing at Zanesville, this game will definitely be played somewhere close to Columbus.

They WON'T play thus game at Logan. IDK if Canal wants to host. That imo leaves Hamilton Township. A wild card could be Chillicothe, but I see the state wanting this game near Columbus.

Interesting, if the OHSAA would not have had the realignment, would DeSales even be in the Playoffs?

Athens will have limited touches because of the way the stallions play. It's going to be a VERY close game. Athens will have to take advantage of those touches.

I'm not saying Athens isn't going to win...they could win by 3 scores...it's going to be a game where they need to take advantage of their touches.
