How was that 7 on 7 with Philo, Belpre, and Trimble?

Philo showed up in the morning, I didn't get to see them. Belpre looked pretty darn good, but I expected the Golden Eagles to have explosive skill players this season - which plays into a 7-on-7 competition. Athens looked o.k., but opposite of Belpre, I think Athens strength will show up once the pads are put on. 7-on-7 is not their cup off tee this year. Trimble, as always, had athletes on the field. Their QB is small but looks to be a pretty good athlete and Hooper on the outside looks a lot like Dickleman of Athens at WR.

I saw a few of them the other day. I think Athens may have the best Oline and Dline in the TVC going into the season.

I agree, followed by VC. We only lost 1 to graduation.

Yeah, VC had a pretty big line last year. Just too many turnovers for VC the first 5 games but ended the season 3-2. Two losses to playoff teams

Is Athens still running the same basic offense that they did with Burrow, or have they had to dial it back to something more "basic"?

If they are running same O, what year is the QB and some specifics as to his abilities please.

2014 Burrow threw for a ton of yards. Shotgun - 4 wide.
2015 Saltzmen ran for a ton of yards. Shotgun, lots of wildcat, 3 wide a lot - with H-back.
2016 ? anyone's guess.

Look out for the Buckeyes. Saw both of their scrimmages and the line play is coming along. With all their speed at the skilled positions and improved line play they are going to be hard to handle. Beat New Lex today 4-1 with the Varsity.

Most all JV games are played the day after or Monday after the varsity game, with week 10 being played before week 1. But obviously that's up to the AD's, all we know is what OB told us, and that is the game was cancelled.

I was told Athens canceled because of injuries.......

They are a D3 school and they can't put enough kids together to play a jv game???

Athens is a D3 school, but has a gazillion boys who play soccer, tennis, golf, swimming, band, drama club ... you name it ... they fit well in the TVC because of this. Athens is not a football school like NY despite recent success.
