Great show by the Ironmen!

Winchester is getting very comfortable back there and really seeing the field and making good choices. The receivers have some opportunities to go downfield as he really is keeping the plays alive.

Arthur looks great on offense and defense and Ervin looked to be a player on a mission when he got his touches.

Another great effort by the Ironmen tonight. Jackson's offensive balance is just outstanding, running the football with success, but also keeping defenses honest with a solid passing game. They had well over 300 yards rushing tonight, and Winchester added another 113, I believe, through the air. The multitude of offensive sets, and the success that the Ironmen are having with them, has to make Jackson a nightmare to prepare for during the week. This team is going to be very tough to beat if they keep playing this well on the offensive side of the ball. So many different weapons and so many different ways to utilize them.

Jackson played very well defensively as well. They forced a lot of turnovers, put good pressure on Leffingwell, and really did a good job on a talented group of Warren receivers. The Warriors threw the ball nearly 40 times, but Jackson's defense was strong all night. Tough trip to Portsmouth next week to take on the Trojans, who surprisingly were blown out by Chillicothe tonight. I would bet that Portsmouth will put together a much better effort at home next week, so the Ironmen will have to bring their "A" game once again to get win #3 out of 6 on the road to the ultimate goal...an SEOAL championship.

A 66 yard punt that ended up on the Jackson 2 yard line. And the hang time on Venham's punts was just crazy.

Tyson McNelly of Jackson also had a great night punting the ball. He had a 55 yarder, I believe.

Agreed! League championships are always a big deal, regardless of conference. Very few get the chance at anything more. Just ask the kids if it is a big deal to them if you don't believe it!

At 2-0 in SEOAL play, I'm pretty sure Jackson is a contender in the SEOAL. If you're talking about playoffs, or something like that, then that remains to be seen. But that doesn't make any sense, anyway, since YTB was clearly referring to the SEOAL.

Thanks. Definitely a long way to go and some very tough games with Portsmouth, Marietta, Chillicothe, and Gallia Academy.

I'll tell you what I think. Comparing scores from common opponents is an inexact science, and means next to nothing.

The loss to Wellston in Week 1, or Gallia's win over Wellston in Week 3, will mean NOTHING in Week 10. I said before that it's possible that GAHS will beat Jackson, but I'm not counting the Ironmen out. They're playing very well right now and I like their chances.

actually i was not thinking. gallia is still unbeaten in seoal play. so whoever survives jackson /gallia will be the team to beat.

I dont see what you mean , I was talking about Jackson going to Gallipolis and actually winning, These are supposingly the 2 teams to beat in the SEOAL. So if thats the case it will be the Blue Devils. Jacksons not going to go down there and get a win.

The point was that comparing scores, like you were doing with Jackson, GAHS, and Wellston, doesn't always work.

As for the rest of that...you are entitled to your opinion. Long way to go until Week 10, so we'll see what happens.
