Waverly has really left a ton on points on the field, ZT hanging tough and making a game of it.

Fumble recovery by the Waverly D leads to a 50yrd pass to Futhey that sets up a 22yrd run by Shoemaker.

Obviously time of possession and number of plays made no difference in this one. Waverly struck quickly when they had the ball. Much of ZT 3rd Quarter TOP was on the scoring drive that took over 6 minutes off the clock. Waverly responded by scoring in less then .30 seconds. Quick scores in the 4th quarter led to the large TOP difference and ZT running out the clock on their last possession of the game.

More STATS to come.....

A humbling win for Waverly. Pretty clear we'll be in a dog fight every week. Can't take any opponent lightly.

Some untimely penalties extending ZT drives didn't help our cause. How many times was this game stopped because a ZT player had a cramp? And how many timeouts does a team get?? No rhythm to this contest. Strange game all the way around. I'm glad this one is over! :)

Waverly needs to regroup and get ready for a tough Unioto team. Got to remember this is a young Tiger squad. Good to see them step it up in the 3rd quarter when this game was tight. Learn form our mistakes and get better every game. Go Tigers!!

Ya, it was a strange one. Roughing passer on 4th down when we had them stopped led to their 3rd quarter TD that cut it to 21-14. Face mask in first half, similar situation extended that TD scoring drive.
I thought Athens started cramping up a bunch in the 2nd half but last night was crazy - it started in the 2nd quarter last night.

The real head scratcher for me was the 4th down measurement in the first half. Tigers deep in ZT territory and went for it on 4th down. Pass completion to near line to gain. It took the officials a couple minutes to figure out they need to measure it. So, instead of bringing in the chains to the ball they MOVE THE BALL TO THE SIDELINE. Of course we were short. You don’t move the ball before a measurement....... INSANE!
