"The real head scratcher for me was the 4th down measurement in the first half. Tigers deep in ZT territory and went for it on 4th down. Pass completion to near line to gain. It took the officials a couple minutes to figure out they need to measure it. So, instead of bringing in the chains to the ball they MOVE THE BALL TO THE SIDELINE. Of course we were short. You don’t move the ball before a measurement....... INSANE!
[/quote]

Yeah, that one was pretty funny. How many times did they put the ball down and then pick it up and move it to a different spot? I had a feeling we would come up short on that one.

Taking time to really take it in, give Zane Trace credit, they fought and fought and looked to play with more intensity than the Tigers. Not blaming coaches or players or anybody in particular but it appeared Waverly overlooked the overmatched Pioneers and entered the game not prepared for the fight they would face. Was it obvious Waverly had the overall better “athletes” and would probably win just because of that, yes. But there’s something to be said about basics, fundamentals, grit, desire & passion. I’m not saying Waverly doesn’t have those things, I’m saying they took this game lightly, overlooked an opponent, and thought they could walk their way through it. I believe Toast commented the Tigers cannot take anyone lightly.

I hope last night was a learning experience for these “young Tigers”. Yes, they won 49-14 in the end but it was 21-14 with a little over 3 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter.

Tigers need to get some much needed rest, heal some wounds, and start PREPARING for a very good Unioto team invading the Jungle next week. TAKE NO OPPONENT LIGHTLY - the schedule just gets tougher from here.

He’s a game changer and while not 100% he has to be accounted for. Adding him to the weapons available is big....
