Coldwater may not be the team they were a year ago, but I promise you Burg wants no part of them or half of the other teams in the MAC.
When burg signed a deal with fairland, they were a playoff team. Jackson is a good game. Ironton just fell off the map lol. Oak Hill was a playoff team. Portsmouth has been terrible for a while. But of those teams I stated ironton and Portsmouth are rival schools that we will always play. We are dumping fairland. And keeping Jackson. IDK about oak hill and I know we are dumping nch and picking up some school out of Dayton.
Burg does want a piece of cold water. They are the doors way to the championship.

Portsmouth does appear they may be heading in the right direction and if they continue improving this game could be back to the rivalry it once was in a couple years. I'm going say 42-7 Wheelersburg just too many weapons for Portsmouth to account for.

I am glad the Burg has forgotten about the debacle known as the Jackson game last year. Perfect and great can be beat by a great defensive mind like Larry Hall. You all need to shut up and take it one week at a time. Have you checked on North College Hill lately? Those Cincy teams beat on each other every week kinda like the MAC teams do. We want Coldwater, then put them on the schedule and get your helmet handed to you early and come back down to planet Earth and realize you can always improve. Burg is good, no doubt about it. Well coached and always conditioned. We shall see. Play ball!

I believe the Jackson game you are referring to was 2 years. I think all Wheelersburg fans realize there's always room for improvement. As far as the Coldwater talk I think the fans just want to see the Pirates have another shot to prove themselves against the best similar to 2 years ago against Hartley.

Here is the problem though, Fairland did make playoffs in 2013 but they are far from a perennial playoff team. Fairland as one winning seasons in the past 6 years. they are 22-39 from 2010 to 2015. so to say you scheduled them because of that is silly...You all are a true top 10 program in the State and are at the level of reloading not rebuilding year after year now. I think the Pirates need to schedule 1 or 2 of those teams a year to help them get to the biggest stage, which I truly think they can and win!! Get a CCC or a Bishop Hartley or a Marion Local each year. You will also increase gate at those games at home even more so than Ironton because you will get all the other schools fans in southern Ohio to come watch those team when you have them at Wheelersburg...

Burg beat Jackson 28-7 last year at Jackson

I feel ya man. Before ironton and Portsmouth joins the ovc burg had a contract to play two ovc schools. Personally I think keeping fairland as one of those school was a bad idea.

Being an old Trojan living in Arizona it is always fun to read posts about this game, and others. Portsmouth football, at this time is just not good! PHS needs players to come out, play more than one sport or those that could help not playing at all. OVC is a good league for PHS, SOC would have been better but too many hold grudges against kids that were not even born and in some cases their parents were not born.
The Burg has in place a system that affords them to replace players annually and maintain a quality program, PHS has, IMO, no program in place to have good seasons annually on a long term basis.
I wish I were wrong because I would love to see the Trojans become a team other teams did not want to play, now other schools want us for their homecoming games!
Having said this, I wish Portsmouth the best and learn and get better each week.
Go Trojans

Yes Burg did beat Jackson 28 to 7 but Jackson gave them problems. Of course, when you are playing the Burg, records don't matter. Everyone gives the Burg their best shot.
