I always wondered that too. I'd like to learn the three-step passing package. Are there any high school coaches in the area who know anything about it?

It would work great with a good fleet footed QB, and possibly didn't have the arm strenght for the 60 yd bomb, but was deadly accurate at say 20-25 yds. With the zone blocking that most high schools employ now it would work great with either a 3 step drop or a moving pocket. To many targets for the QB to throw to on any given play, would drive the DC crazy for 2 or 3 years, until he swallowed his pride and went to a clinic that taught him how to defend it.
Yes, if you have the right players. It worked well for a D4 (I think) team a few years back called Kenton. I believe they won the playoffs one year and made a good run another. I went and watched one of the playoff games at Dublin and they had 58 sec left in the half and scored in 8 sec.
Maybe watered down versions of the West Coast Offense. It takes pro QB's quite some time to learn the offense, there's no way a highschool QB could learn it in a year or two, especially if he plays other sports.
Versions of the west coast offense are already being run by high school programs through-out the country. It all depends on the personnel you have as to the offense you can run.
As D Owens was hinting at above, Waverly has run the West Coast Offense for many years and had quite a few QBs Throw for 2000yds or more in a season. Ed Bolin loved the 3 step pass and the check release.
It could be ran in high school but my only problem with it is most of the passing routes are based on the receiver and coverage, so you have to have receivers who can read coverages just as good as quarterbacks, with that you also have to have a quarterback and receivers that will be on the same page.
That is true but we are talking about High school football and coverages aren't that complicated. Really all you have to do is give them 2 options inside or outside.
