Pethel top Gallia tackler in Logan loss

Shaun Pethel, junior defensive end, was Gallia Academy’s top tackler in a 42-7 loss at Logan on Sept. 19.

Pethel had seven solo tackles.

Tyler Wachs recorded six solos and Jerrod Wray finished with four tackles and one assist. Beau Whaley had four solos and one pass breakup. Justin Northup and Jared Gravely had four solo tackles apiece. Evan Wood had three tackles and one assist and Quintin Nibert had three solos and one pass breakup.

Clint Saunders had three tackles, Cody Ward two solos and five assists, and Tyler Grimm had two tackles and one assist. Josh Curry, Corey Straight, and Cody Billings all had two tackles. Nick Wilson had two tackles and one assist.

Austin Smith had one solo and one assist while Nate Allison, Corey Mason, and Ben Robinson had one tackle. Kyle Dingess and Codie Lloyd each had one assist.

After four games, Wood leads the Blue Devils with 24 solo tackles and four assists. Tyler Wachs is second with 11 solos. Clint Saunders, Austin Smith and Beau Whaley each have 10 solos and Cody Ward has nine solos and nine assists.

Gravely, Pethel, C. Saunders, Harrison, Allison, and A. Wilson have each recovered one opponent’s fumbles.

Nibert has three pass interceptions while Mason and Whaley each have one.

Penthel played a great game. Not sure he had played a ton prior to that game, but I thought he was outstanding.

good deal. hope he and the rest of the blue devils finish up the year strong.
