10/28 A Minford (4-6) [4:15] W 38-13
11/4 H Ridgewood (8-3) [5:19] W 28-21

It appears that Valley has played a tougher schedule, but that was also said about Ridgewood playing a tougher schedule than Valley. It's week 12, so anything can happen.

Here is a vid on Crestview

(Crestview won 28-24)

I think Valley will beable to run the ball effectively, and they will need to defend the pass. GO VALLEY!!

Valley 35

Crestview 24

Grandview was without it's top running back (hurt in the first half last week against Liberty Union) and it showed. Crestview can be scored upon and it seems most of the SOC teams like to eat the clock and play ball control so this should be a great game with Valley's defense which IMO is a lot better than Grandview's. Prediction later.

Ah, when I saw the score I was curious if he had played. Unfortunate. Very excited for this game.

I think this will be one of the better second round games next week.

It'll probably be somewhere around the C-bus outerbelt so it'll be a straight shot I-70 East for you by judging your location. Getting into and around town is crazy here on friday nights with rush hour so you'd better allow a little extra time to be sure.

FANOFSPORTS,

Any ideas on where we might be playing next week? We were talking after the game about Grove City and Hamilton Twp, although it was pointed out that the Jackson-Jonathon Alder game could get one of those two locations, not to mention the fact that the State has to put West-Wynford somewhere.

My bet is Dublin or Westerville for the valley game.

Does Crestview look REALLY small in that tape or what?

It used to be you could pretty well predict where the games were going to be every year but now once you go to the second round it has to be a turf field if at all possible in most cases. Just in the last few years here in C-bus alone you have Hamilton Twp, Gahanna, Hilliard Bradley, Bexley, DeSales, all 3 Dublin schools, Reynoldsburg, Grove City Christian, Grandview, Harvest Prep, St. Charles, Upper Arlington and Wellington who have put in new turf. Westerville Central put in turf this year and Westerville North and South will have it within the next couple years. With this being said, who knows other than the OHSAA at this point what schools put in for playoff games and who didn't this year. They have in the past usually tried to schedule most games at "outerbelt" facilities with the ones used most from what I've seen in the past being Gahanna (Northeast), Hamilton Township (South) and Dublin Coffman (Northwest). The "innerbelt" ones used most have been DeSales (Karl Rd) and Upper Arlington (by OSU). I don't think Bexley, Harvest Prep, Reynoldsburg, Wellington or Grove City Christian have hosted any tourney games.

Once again, why in the world is a team that far north playing in Region 19?? This team is in Ashland Ohio, up above Mansfield. They are probably only 50 miles or so from Cleveland.

What in the Hell is wrong with the OHSAA? Do they not have an Ohio map? No way in Hell that they should be in this region. They should be in the northeast region, which I'm pretty sure is Region 17. Do they not know the cost it will incur for fans to travel that far to watch a second round game? Why did they do this? It wasn't like this in the past.

I know people will say it doesn't matter and that will travel no matter how far to see their team play and I would to if the Burg was playing, but it's ridiculous to make people travel that far. I was really hoping to see Valleys 2nd round game but I'm not sure I want to travel all they way to northern Columbus to do so.

Good luck to Valley.

Gotta get the regions even, 120 plus teams for each division. Look at the smithville team too. They were always in the NE region but ended up in SEO!! LOL. Southeast ohio is losing teams so Ohsaa is trying to make it up by placing teams east NE of columbus to make it up. Just remember, NE Ohio this is where football began and is really good fundamentally. Valley better be ready for any team that far north. They know all the tricks and play the game anyway to win.

Yep, they should have put Beverly Fort Frye in 19 and Crestview in 17 and Switched Bucyrus Winford and Belpre

I agree. These new alignments are ridiculous. They have teams that are 60 to 70 miles north of I-70 playing in Region 19 and teams that are 60 miles south of I-70 playing in region 17.

Take Fort Frye for instance. Let's say they make the playoffs and have to travel to Cuyahoga Heights to play a 1st round game in Region 17. CH is almost on Lake Erie so you looking at close to a 4 to 4.5 hour drive for a 1st round game. That is freakin' ridiculous, especially with gas prices the way they are. The OHSAA is the biggest bunch of idiots I believe I have ever seen.

Alright, my rant's over. lol

If Valley protects the football, I think they win this one "fairly" easy. Their backs ran as hard as I have seen on the high school level against RW. Keller was a beast and drug defenders 4-5 yards after contact.

As far as matchups, I think Valley getting Crestview is an easier game than Wynford drawing West.

Good luck next weekend. Go SOC!

I sure don't understand Crestviews schedule. Exactly half of their schedule (5 games) was against D6 teams and only one of those D6 teams even had a winning record.
It'd not like they were exceptionally good D6 teams or at least some of them would have had better records. In fact, they only beat two teams with winning records in the regular season so how did they even make it into the playoffs?
I don't get it.
