We need Morgan Landrum and Nathan Parks 80+% by Friday.

If they are good to go and Jackson stays within 1 on the turnovers.....I think we'll advance on to play Jonathan Alder in Lancaster.

What do I think about the match-up?

I think we break the hearts of all those Jackson fans out their ... Just like we did in 1990.

(And no, we didn't 'rip you guys off.' That was a well officiated game!)

LOL. That last comment makes me pretty suspicious, bulldog. I was only 6 years old at the time, so I don't remember very well. :)

Did I forget to mention 'Karma can be a bi***?'

It seems we have the soccer kicker this time around. (2003)

Our kicker, Luke Eisnaugle, is also a former soccer player. He is 57/58 on the year, with the lone miss coming against Gallia Academy. Nathan Parks, our normal holder was out of the game, and Austin Osborne had to hold after racing about 80 yards for a score. It seemed like the timing was a little off, and Luke pulled it to the left.

Anyway, Luke set a school record, making 59 straight PATs, which is simply amazing. Hated to see the streak end for him on Friday, but I have a feeling he's going to be a very valuable weapon in the post-season.

With as many like opponents I think you can draw some conclusions. But Athens is playing a lot better down the stretch and have home field advantage. I think this will be a hard fought, competitive game but will see Jackson close it out late. I see Jackson leading, getting a stop or turnover and then capitalizing, 41-28. But really, anything can happen, that's just my "prediction sure to fail". LOL.

athens keeps it close til halftime, jackson pulls away with 14 point win.sharp is fast but no where close to the speed of st charles backs. see jackson having no trouble stopping him.if athens is to win this game i fill they will have to do it passing the ball, but i fill thats a slim chance also.jackson has to many weapons.

You can't go by all the common opponents....but they are hard to ignore.

Athens playing at home should be worth 7 points (not an officiating point)

1990 game sucked
2003 was almost too nerve-racking to enjoy...but the outcome helped.

The 2011 Ironmen.....more consistently great than 2003 team.

Scared? Not a chance!

Thanks for the information on the 'Dogs. In any other circumstance, I would be so excited to watch guys like Sharp and Rider play again after seeing them in Week 1. I won't appreciate how great they truly are on Friday because I'll be rooting against them so hard. I'll post Jackson's season statistics later tonight/tomorrow.

Goodness, guys. It looks like the area fans have a lot of confidence in the Ironmen. I do as well, but Athens has a VERY good football team. This game will be a battle, in my opinion.

Athens can toss the pill around oldrocker ... Germano's first game as the starting QB last week he threw for 168 yds and a score ... Last night I believe he threw for 142 yds and 2 TD's and rushed for another. BTW Ironman02, Germano is in fact another son of an OU coach - I want to get that out of the way now so Locos and 2Old can raz me all night Friday.

I swear, I see 2Old at the Convo a few years back and he still gives me crap about Athens not having a 'hometown kid' as our starting QB ... lol

Oh yea ... The 1990 game ... We had an OU coaches son lead us to victory as well.

Uh....the 1990 game probably had parents of current players.

1990 moot

2003 moot

2011.....not moot

Yea, but look at it this way: Southeastern Ohio is guaranteed a team in the regional semi-finals.

Well.....I can't think of any 2011 Ironmen who had their Dad in the 1990 game but a couple from the meaningless 1989 game.

History re-peats itself I92 ... History re-peats itself ... You should have learned that in school man.

BTW ... Any of you guys been to the new stadium or seen it yet? Your definitly gonna see an improvement (especially in field conditions) compared to the old Rutter Field.

How many people will the visitor bleachers hold?

We were 1 dimensional in 1990....if we were 1 dimensional now then history might repeat itself....gotta run and pass in the playoffs.

Were you on the 1990 team as a sophomore or were you just a catcher on the baseball team for Gibby?
