D4 R15 Playoffs

Post by gotigers »

Since the Joe Eitel website isn't updated, here are my calculations for week 9...

1. St. Clairsville 20.6408
2. Johnstown-Monroe 19.55
3. Coshocton 16.2813
4. Amanda-Clearcreek 15.8747
5. Martins Ferry 15.25
6. Ironton 13.7121
7. Chesapeake 12.899
8. Indian Valley 11.95

9. Meigs 9.1146

I think that will be the top 8, but there may be some shuffling in #3-7.

GO TIGERS!!!

I think if we beat Portsmouth and Chesapeake beats Coal Grove that Chesapeake will move up above us by looking at each others possible L2 points.

Johnstown will need Heath or Lakewood to win to move ahead of St. C or need one of the team's St. C beat to get upset. Anyway it's going to be close. If Amanda wins they will host, if they lose Ferry will bump to the 4. Coal Grove Chesapeak is a big game as well

According to Drew Pasteur ( http://www.fantastic50.net/index.php?pr=Ohio_Berths )
the 8 teams making the Region 15 playoffs will almost certainly be (not necessarily in order)

Coshocton
Amanda-Clearcreek
Martins Ferry
St Clairsville
Johnstown-Monroe
Chesapeake
Ironton
Indian Valley

The good news:
Practically speaking, for Ironton not to make the playoffs, first of all the Fighting Tigers would have to lose to Portsmouth; and second, every opponent that Ironton has beaten would also have to lose. And even then, Ironton would almost certainly still make it.

The bad news:
Ironton is probably looking at a long road trip to the week 11 game, and so far Ironton hasn't fared very well away from the friendly confines of Tanks Memorial.

i was just looking at joe eitel.
looking at who plays who, and how it might play out.number 4 amanda clearcreek plays logan elm, i look for them to lose that game.
and number 5 martin's ferry, plays a 5-4 bellaire team.if amanda clearcreek loses , and ironton wins, i think we'll end up playing amanda clearcreek in amanda with ironton moving from 6 to 5.if both lose is it possible ironton can move to 4 and have a home game.

I don't see it, if Chesapeake beats Coal Grove they will finish above us, looking at Chesapeaks probable L2 points compared to ours. I see us finishing 7th and playing Johnstown Monroe in the 1st round if we beat Portsmouth.

Now IF Coal Grove beats Chesapeake we could finish 6th and would probaly face Coshocton, if we beat Portsmouth. Alot of different scenarios could be played out Friday, we just need to take care of our own business Friday night and let the cards fall where they may.

Just get in. Everything else is about the line of scrimmage. If Ironton wins the line of scrimmage the next 4 weeks I think they will go 4-0. Ironton is very capable of winning the region. The football field at other places are 120 yards long just like at home. I like our chances!

I would LOVE to see Ironton against Johnstown in the 1st round. It's amazing how people are talking of the Johnnies this year. I am being told they think they can out-rush any team in the region. It would be interesting to see their power running game against a team that runs the spread so well....

Really though, the 2 styles are similar, just out of different formations. I would like to see how Ironton stacks up against the MBL's best.

I was just trying to point out the fact that both teams are power running teams, but they run their offenses out of different formations. Ironton's base is a double tight, full T backfield. Johnstown's base, if I'm not mistaken, is an I formation.

See my other response to explain the rest of it. I was trying to post in a hurry at work and the full thought did not get conveyed very well!!

i'll put ironton's power up the middle game against anybodie's our size. but you have to be able to do other things when people put 8/11 people in the box, to stuff the run.
