Week 8: Athens (7-0) vs Alexander (6-1)

The Alexander loss to Wellston may have taken some of the luster out of this match-up - but I have a feeling it will pick back up as the week goes along. The loss to the Golden Rockets makes the Spartans even more dangerous IMO ... The pressure of an undefeated season is no longer their and Alexander now has to scratch and claw to stay in the league title race ... It's never an easy thing when you attempt to handle a wounded animal - and that's what Alexander is at this point.

like i siad weeks ago. Alex will start losing games starting week 7.. And look what happin last night.. Alexander will be 7-3 or 6-4 at seasons end.. Alex might... MIGHT.. beat meigs being the only other game they could win this year.. this is what happins when you go Undefeated and have not played anybody you get a false sense that you are really good, ,but when you play a team that is better then what you have played all year... reality... sets in.. nyfan54 siad it on another thread..Alexander's strength of schedule is #716 in the state.. Thats why alex will not be near the top of the tvc. They didnt play anyone that could help them for big games like athens.. The record made them look better then they are so thats why in a sense they are not what some may of thought they were... seeing the record OVER who they played can fool you... TERM FAKE WAS ABOUT THE SCHEDULE... seeing the record over the schedule they have played

Alexander will come in wanting to prove they are for real in this game and the Bulldogs started talking about avenging last years loss in spartan land even before they got to the locker room last night. look for this to be a hard hitting contest. Neither team will need the coaches to get them motivated in this one.

What helps or hurts any teams chances is the level of competition BEFORE starting league play.

Alexander won't win another TVC game they are the great imposter!
Beating up on the worst 5 programs in Southern Ohio on purpose with the scheduling.
Then being up on RV 28-0 late in the 4th and having the starters fake a punt!

While I do think the Bulldogs will win this game, I fully expect Alexander to bring their A game in this one as their league title hopes depend on it.
