Waverly 26 Wellston 21

Post by Tigers24 »

With both teams coming up short in week 2, it makes week 3 a must win for both teams!!!!!

IMO Waverly beat themselves Friday at Alumni stadium. Four turnovers will beat most teams, especially at the high school level. Waverly's wideouts dropped several passes that should have been caught and must correct that this week in practice if they want to win ball games. I feel that if we can catch the ball better, eliminate the turnovers, and avoid the big play Waverly will win this game and move to 2-1 for 2009. What are your thoughts SEO?

Waverly can beat the Rockets but they had better buckle their chin straps. The snot bubbles will be out.

With all the things that are going wrong for the Rockets with Injuries, they continue to step up and play solid football. They were down 20-0 to a very good Minford team and fought back . I think the Rockets will get the win in week 3.

GO ROCKETS!!!!!

Waverly must get better consistency out of the offense. Turnovers, dropped passes & penalties killed any chance of a victory at Jackson.

The defense is getting better and came back to shut out the Ironmen in the 2nd half but.

Waverly dominated the stats but what matters is the points on the board.

Is Wellston still playing at the old field or did they build a new stadium?

Waverly needs to put it in the end zone after moving the ball down the field. We had missed opportunities in both of the first two games. I think the Tigers come out with a chip on their shoulders Friday night. Waverly has just too many weapons for a "banged up" Wellston squad.

G&B Tiger.....Waverly may win this game, but it won't be by three touchdowns. Much closer contest.

This should be a good one which will go down to the wire. Good luck to both teams.

G&B Tiger...Nice seeing you at Jackson in the press box the other night. You going to be at C.H. Jones this week?

G&B....Yes, the name of the field is C.H. Jones.

We'll see you there. I sent you the box score as well from Waverly at Jackson.

I think I'll take Waverly in this game.

The Rockets are a good football team, losing to Jackson and Minford the first two weeks in close games, but it doesn't get any easier for them against the Tigers. I think they'll continue to play well, but Waverly's athletes will be a little too much in the end. If Wellston gets Prater back this week, that could make a big difference for them, but I don't know if that will be enough.

Good luck to both teams.
