Ironton 6th? Wow.

Also, how does Amanda not get any first place votes? In my opinion, if someone other than Kettering Alter is getting first place votes, it should be Amanda.

LoganGrad -

There were a ton more voters this week. More voters means the teams in the larger media markets like Mentor Lake Catholic (Cleveland) and Turpin (Cincinnati) get more votes proportionally.

Lake Catholic plays Mooney this week. If they win, they'll deserve the #2 ranking and if they lose Logan can move up by beating Ironton. Seems fair to me.

Minford beat a top 10 ranked team in Coal Grove last week, they dont get in.

Screw the AP. It is pointless anyway. Its all about computer points!

Don't expect Lake Catholic to beat Mooney. But they are top notch and a threat in D-II to win it. If the game is close, voters won't penalize LC much. Turpin is way over-rated. Down there ,I'd be worried about Winton Woods & Trotwood.. The big boy remains Louisville. I'd forget about the polls & just take care of business each week.

Wheelersburg beats a good VASJ team by 24 points and then falls 7 spots to 19th.

Coal Grove loses a squeaker to Minford(who should have already been in the poll somewhere) and drops out of the poll completely.

AP Poll always has been and always will be a laugh at best.

The only poll that matters is the computer point poll. As long as you are a #8 or better you are in the postseason where anything can happen.

Get over yourself, 77. How many times must I tell you --- VASJ isn't any good. LOts of people will beat them this year. They aren't going anywhere.

Ursuline isn't ANYWHERE to be found in the Polls Top 10 and they'll kick just about everyone's butt in their division. They have the schedule to only win 5-6 games , get in and kill most everyone.

this poll means nothing to me, ap is a publicity stunt gone bad. the fighting tigers will be fine. with some good quality wins against the remainder of our schdule, we should be well in the playoffs. we still have logan, chillicothe, jackson, nelsonville york , and warren and portsmouth.

Paladin, You said VASJ wasn't very good, but the game with Wheelersburg would be very close, wrong again

From the reports I got, the game was evenly matched on O & D. The difference was special teams . Thats not a ringing endorsement for the Burg !!

How can the defense be equal when the Pirates picked off two passes for scores and another that lead to a score, plus I believe a fumble recovery. VASJ had a decent passing game and a good QB but the team just didn't seem to give 100% on every play. The only special teams scores was the opening KO return for a TD, so how is that 7 points the deciding factor in a 24 point win?

Let me get this straight then, special teams don't count in a ballgame and like was said, there was only 1 special teams TD, the opening KO. I think Burg's defense was far better that theres even though they did hit hard. Burg's D turned two INT's into points. Big part of any game and it is usually a bonus if you can get points out of your defense or special teams, so for you to try to take anything away from the Burg in that win just shows me the mentality you have.

Man, who knows, maybe Logan will end up AP poll champs at the end of the season and they'll go out and buy themselves rings. They best hope for that scenario because everyone already knows they can't get it done on the field come playoff time.
