I think the Peake will win this game. I was impressed with #5 from SP against RH, but he was getting hit in the backfield all night long. RH has been torched on the outside all year, but they slammed the door shut on SP. I don't think the kid had 100 yards rushing, I would be surprised if SP had 150+ yards against RH. I feel that Davis will put together a great gameplan and make SP throw the football to beat him...not going to happen. Peake 27 South Point 14

I predicted clear back in January that Chesapeake would win this game and that they would finish 2nd in the OVC. A win + a Fairland loss to Coal Grove and they'll pull it off.

I'm sticking with my pick. Go Peake! Go Coach Davis!

Peake has several players back from health issues, and is hitting on all cylinders. If they bring the same level of game they brought to Fairland, they will win by at least 2 scores.

I made this statement on January 31, 2009 on this site:

I know it's early, but I going to make my first prediction of the New Year:

Chesapeake, barring catastrophic injuries, WILL beat South Point. Lindsey is a fine QB and he'll have a pretty good line in front of him. Chesapeake always finds at least a couple of decent running backs and receivers to get the ball to.
South Point's major losses to graduation will be felt immediately because of the lack of experience and the lack of talent compared with the past few years.

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention: the game is at chesapeake this year - South Point will be playing on grass. Since 1997, South Point is 2-4 against Chesapeake on the road.

South Point played RH and will play the Peake without Greg Taylor who broke his hand the 1st play against Fairland.

Doug Dillon was hurt early in the game and sat out at least a whole quarter. He reinjured the shoulder he had surgery on. The Pointers were playing without Greg Taylor, Will Hill and Austin Ross. Ross should be back against the Peake but the others are done possilby for most of basketball too. The Pointers are capable of winning if the subs step up. Good Luck Pointers.

Dillion came back and played the rest of the game until the coach put the jv in so I would expect him to play.

Everyone in the stadium knew the kid (Dillon) was injured and SP put him at DE in the 3rd quarter... He maybe sat 2 series. Dumb penalties kept it as close as it was.

Since this game is at Peake, I'll take the home team by 2 scores.

All of Chesapeake's wins have come on grass. South Point hasn't won a game on grass.
Chesapeake hasn't won a game at home. South Point hasn't won a game on the road. One of the streaks has to end.

I think this will be a tight game. I think I'll take the Peake at home.
