Zanesville isn't in the ECOL until 2011 i believe.

At the earliest. Rosecrans and Marietta are not expected to be fully integrated until 2012.

I do understand we have added New Philadelphia to next year's schedule. Week 3, I think, but I don't know if that replaces Wheeling Park or moves Park to another spot for a year.

New Philly, Dover and maybe Cambridge will be the top three.
Just a guess on the C-Bridge.

If Steubenville joins the ECOL you might as well '86' that poll and start another one and pencil in, no wait, ink in Steubenville Big Red as the champion. Shocking if Meadowbrook and Cambridge would want any part of Big Red.

Cambridge isn't as bad as they once were. They are more of a middle tier type of team & the Big Red aren't what they used to be either, imo. I think we will start to see a decrease in their performances in the next few years

Vote on Steubenville in early May. They would start in 2011 and divisions would be:

Black Division (Big) Cambridge, Dover, Marietta, New Philadelphia, Steubenville, and Zanesville.

White Division (Small) Claymont, Coshocton, Meadowbrook, RiverView, and Roasecrans.

A Steubenville diehard told me that they would not be nearly as good the next 5 years as the last 5 years. He thought they would still likely be 1 or 2 in the ECOL, but not go to far into the playoffs.

nice. but a down big red is still a good big red to the rest of the schools that play them.

Seen today where the principals voted and admitted Big Red into the ECOL 7-3.

It just got a lot harder to win a football title in the ECOL with the addition of Steubenville . Kudos to Marietta, Dover, Cambridge, New Philadelphia, and Zanesville for stepping their games up. The biggest and best schools in eastern Ohio will now be playing each other. I know some schools in southeastern Ohio that could learn a few things from these schools.

I wonder who the teams were that voted against adding Steubenville to the conference? I'm guessing some teams from the other division.

I was under the impression that Marietta didn't get a vote because they are not yet a member.

The final vote was 7-3 in favor of Big Red getting admitted...now...I know I went to Logan and all...but...according to my math, 7+3=10

Dover
Cambridge
New Philadelphia
Zanesville
Claymont
Coshocton
Meadowbrook
River View
Rosecrans

That's only 9 schools there, so, you add Marietta, and you get what? TEN! So, I'm gonna have to say Marietta got a vote!

All teams that are going to be in the ECOL when it goes to divisions in 2011 got a vote. Cambridge, RiverView, and Marietta voted against Steubenville.

In the end it did not matter, on Tues. May 18 Steubenville turned down the invitation to join the ECOL. Their school officials met with ECOL school officials and had new schedules made out. The Steubenville Board of Ed would not vote for them to join the ECOL. Ooopppps. I guess you ought to make sure the Board is OK with you joining a league before you go through the process.

New Philly is my pick even though they will lose immediately once the playoffs start as in years past.

i bet some etta BoE are regretting they're jumping ship now. with LOGAN, gallia, etc running the FB world in the SEOAL. now, they find a league that they may be able to make some noise in and along comes the big red. Welp, they do do good in other sports.
