It should be getting near and the excitement mounts. A quick review of the last 10 years:
2000 Coach Ashley leads ND to one of its greatest seasons at 11-1
2001 After going 0-10 leaves for greener pastures.
2002 Darby Riley perhaps saved the NDHS football program with only 15 total players.
2006-2008 Coach McKnight rebuilds the NDHS football program.
2009 Coach Sammons joins coaching staff for his knowledge and his Air Assault offense.
Most of us remain puzzled to this day why this offense wasn't used for most of the season.

Sammons is the NDHS AD, and by all accounts, doing a great job.
And in 2010, in house, at the right place, at the right time, and with the right personal - this is a no brainer.

One opinion of the many, I am sure...

Im pretty sure Ashley left for the Minford job after the 2000 season? I could be wrong though

Might as well address another dumb rumor that the AD may not be in consideration because of the good job he is doing as the AD. Fulsome?
Telling someone that if they had been doing a bad job, they could have had the position they wanted. I don't think so.
It is a forgone conclusion that when an AD still wants to coach, this type of reasoning could lead to an AD vacancy when a coaching position becomes available elsewhere.
Combined AD and coach positions are common in small schools, especially where funds are limited.

One opinion of the many, I am sure...

Wow, has anyone else noticed there is 2104 views of this thread, over 200 views per day?
Keen interest with all the applicants being experienced head coaches of successful programs.
Good luck to all the applicants, this team is what coaches dream of.
And best wishes to all the posters and browsers,

I too check here and the PDT frequently to see if any changes. And when did Mike Sammons become AD as the forum kept saying it was Sammons, but the site still has/had McNight.

AS IN..............................

http://www.nddev.com/teachindex1.html

Kyle McNight is AD,

http://www.nddev.com/contactus.html

Mike Sammons is AD

Last year there was a lengthy thread on here about the schools where the AD was also Head Football Coach. Many of them were.

2270 views.

Two weeks ago a remark was made that this team should go 2 games into the playoffs.
Coach Sammons turned and looked him into the eyes and without hesitation replied,
"That's not far enough."

I remain behind my #1 choice.
One opinion of the many, I am sure...

Been over a week, have yet to cross paths with "several."

Perhaps we should employ the services of Inspector Jacques Clouseau or call in the hounds.

There may be "several," I am sure...

I personally wish they would name a coach jsut because Im curious, coaching vacanies are always one of the most exciting things in offseason, but they are in no need to rush the decision...they have weightlifting program in place with Coach Mckenzie running it, and if Sammons does get the job, hes there already, and if not you still have him as an asst. and Ad...although I will be shocked if he doesn't get the job, he has a good resume and a lot of playoff experience.

As you well know ND is a small community and maybe people don't want to rock your boat when they know the banner you are waving for Sammons. He needs to put you on his campaign payroll.

The problem now, do we count "several"
as 1, 2. or 3 that is not for Coach Sammons?

If they interview today, does anyone know when the final decision is announced? Like sider said, I've found this vacancy interesting, and this thread highly entertaining.
