Coal Grove 2010 schedule?

Post by hornets'nest »

I think they lost a few games, I think Valley renewed, Minford did not and CG picked up Oak Hill. Anybody Know?

Thanks Matt52, I hate to see them loose Minford that has been a good game the last few years, although painfull as a grove fan.there was a bunch of playoff pionts there. Looks like a pretty good non conference schedule, CG is 1-0 VS Athens beat them in 1993. CG played Trimble in late 70 and early 80's with a record f 4-1-1. hope Big Dad and the boys are working hard, and good luck.

They could easily make another trip to the playoffs and have a home game in the first round.

With two DII schools in non conf if we go 5-0 in the first part of the season we should easily have enough level one points to get us a home playoff game, I just worry about the rest of the conference can they hold up to their non conf schedule to give us points once we start playing them.

The conference was about as awfulas it's ever been last year and Coal Grove managed to get in.
South Point, Rock Hill, and RV were all winless after the first five games and Peake's lone win was against their owned rival SV.

Look at the non conf for the OVC, there will be a lot of computer points on first and second level.

9/17/2010
7:30 PM @ Point Pleasant HS (West Virginia) (Point Pleasant) III A

9/24/2010
7:30 PM VALLEY (LUCASVILLE) V H

A couple of questions to ask when looking at those games is

1. At a DIV I level how good is that team from Canada that South Point is playing(good second level points for us after we beat the pointers)

2. This has to be a make or break year at Rock Hill, with their non conf schedule and the team they will have, it is do or die for Coach Knipp out at the Hill.

Rock Hill's schedule is absolutely brutal. West will be better than last year and Valley should be too. They could go winless through the first 5 very easily. They won't be THAT improved...

Valley basically brings everyone back...lost Utley at QB, but Yates will step in and probably be better.

Valley is a contender for the SOC2 this upcoming season....tough game for grove IMO.

We will stay in the OVC until the conference finally merges with the SOC or another conference which I feel isn't that far off in the future.

I am glad you asked, I have thought about this very hard and have come up with the 3 divisions plus add Ironton and Portsmouth

Div 1(Big School)
Ironton
Portsmouth
Waverly
Portsmouth West
Rock Hill
South Point

Div 2
Fairland
Wheelersburg
Coal Grove
Minford
Valley
Oak Hill

Div 3
Northwest
Symmes Valley
Green
Scoitoville Community
Notre Dame

That looks pretty good, but it would never happen...if it did you would have to replace rock hill/ south point with burg
