SEOAL Championship: Jackson @ Gallia Academy

Post by ironman02 »

Jackson Ironmen (8-1, 5-0 SEOAL) at Gallia Academy Blue Devils (7-2, 4-1 SEOAL)

It's here. The one we've all been waiting for. It's Jackson-Gallia Academy, and it's as big as it gets this season.

The Ironmen, coming off a gutty 15-14 win over Chillicothe, will travel to the French City and Memorial Field to take on the Blue Devils, who defeated Warren 41-27 in Week 9. This is one of the most heated rivalries in all of SE Ohio, and the stakes can't get any higher.

Jackson is playing to win an outright SEOAL title, secure a trip to the playoffs and a potential home game, and of course, they're looking to defeat their rival. GAHS is also looking for a playoff berth, and they may even be able to slingshot into hosting a first round game with a win over the Ironmen. The Blue Devils can also claim a share of the SEOAL title with a win over their rival.

Week 10. THE rivalry game. The playoffs and the SEOAL championship on the line. It doesn't get any better than this.

What does everyone think?

Well as Warren figured out, Gallia is far from a one man team. They got great defensive pressure up front on QB and scores from Taylor, Golden,Wilson and Moore. They keyed on Wilson, had us scouted VERY well and was very prepared for us. Yet still allowed 40+ points

Austin Wilson is a big part of Gallia Academy's success, but you don't get to 7-2 with only one good player. There are 11 Blue Devils on each side of the ball that have done their job to get them to where they are as we enter Week 10.

This game will feature Austin Wilson and Klay Arthur, who are vying for SEOAL MVP honors, but neither of them would have the achievements that they have this season without their teammates. If either of them were asked, I'm sure they would say just that.

This is the storyline Game of the Year. In the regular season finale, Jackson travels to Gallia Academy, with a chance to win the SEOAL title outright. These two teams are also battling for playoffs as well, being in the same Division and Region. Having been lucky enough to be apart of this game as a player, i know that each player for each team will strap their helmets up a little bit tighter come Friday Night. This is a game a young man dreams about playing. This is going to be one competetive game. I love the Ironmen in this one for a number of reasons, mainly because they keep finding ways to win games. The key to winning this week, like any week is being prepared and focused. Jackson will be playing in a VERY hostile environment, with against a very experienced and talented Gallia Academy squad. I would feel much more confident knowing the Injury status of Jackson QB Kip Winchester, but I love the Jackson smashmouth football with or without their Senior Captain. Best of luck to the Ironmen. I hope for an injury free game on both sides of the field. I can't wait until Friday Night.

Been quite a while that Jackson and Gallia Academy and SEOAL title have been uttered in a sentence in quite a few years. Two good teams rich in history will meet for an outright title or a shared one. A pep talk by either coach shouldn't be needed for these kids in this one.

Look forward to seeing some of my friends from Jackson fri night, have a safe trip and hope your qb's injury is not serious. Hope the young man gets a chance to play in the game.

Gallia Academy Football does 2 things:

1. We hit you in the mouth and you fill it on saturday mornings.

2. We BEAT Jackson

Most of the time we do those 2 things well.

As ironmen85 said, Jackson has officially clinched a playoff spot and still has an outside shot at a home game if they beat the Blue Devils. Gallia Academy, on the other hand, controls its own destiny...a win and they are in, but a home game is unlikely, but not impossible. I'm going to do some number crunching tonight, so I'll try to give both teams' fans a clear picture of what needs to happen. The main thing, though, is a win in Week 10. This game is just gonna be HUGE. I love it!

Looks like we might get a good bit of rain next week, which doesn't bode well for the playing surface at Memorial Field. Jackson hasn't played a game on natural turf since Week 2 at Waverly. They'll have to adjust to that, but I don't think it'll be a problem. When you line up and run the football like Jackson, an old-fashioned mud game might be something they'll welcome with open arms.

This is the game of the year for both teams, Jackson is a very crisp team and plays very good D. Gallia Academy runs the ball as good as anybody and also has a very good D. Can't wait to watch this one G-Force will be crazy. I'm going to take the Blue Devils.

35-21. Good Luck Devils.

This could be anyone's game. Both teams are prepared for this match up. GAHS has the home field advantage and the best student section. Jackson fans travel well and while the Ironmen are happy with a share of the title, they really want the all out title and a possible home game. Good luck to both teams, I know they will play one of the best games of the year. Gotta stick with my boys- GO JACKSON !!!!!!!!!

Two of the 3 remaining charter members of the SEOAL playing for the championship........both teams have prolific running games, and I look for a fairly high scoring affair, with a score something like 30-26.

GAHS has struggled with turnovers this year.

They have also struggled with penalties.

If the field gets wet and sloppy, I think it favors Jackson.

GAHS must take care of the turnover and penalty situations.

With so much on the line and a rivalry game anything could happen.
