D5 R19 #8 Coal Grove (8-2) @ #1 Oak Hill (9-1)

Post by fuzzhead »

A rematch of last year's game which the Oaks took 42-14. It was the first time the Grove and the Oaks had hooked up since 1993. Coal Grove leads the all-time series 23-13-3. Any thoughts?

Can Coal Grove win this game, I really believe they can, will they, don't know, depends on if the REAL Coal Grove Hornets show up, if the real team shows up then it will be close the entire game, if the team that played Valley and Peake shows up then it won't even be a game.

The OVC has not beat a SOC school this year and they will not win this game either.

I too think Coal Grove can win here. I wasn't at this game last year, but from what I hear, they had their chances to at least make it closer than it was. Blown red zone opportunities and a hurt QB played their part. Here's one thing I do know: no inside running game, no win on Saturday. No #40, no chance. Yeah, the 4 and 5 wide stuff is cute but it is predicated on the running game.

I'll take Oak Hill. However, Coal Grove has a better shot than last year. Seems they developed a nice passing game.

Oak Hill will beat them soundly. Hale will run for 300 yards and they should have at least 200 passing. Hope the refs dont throw any flags or Oak Hill fans will never hear the end of how Coal Grove got cheated.

I think Coal Grove has a chance. They had a chance last year, but werent able to take advantage early on and it cost them. Any team can beat anybody on any given night, but you hav eto take advatage of mistakes and not make any yourself.

I think all the Grovers know what Oak Hill brings to the table. They are not a Chesapeake. Close games against lesser teams garner the most ref hatred, not blowouts against #1s. Hopefully the players will get angry and come out to prove they belong.

Coal grove hasn't played anybody what so ever That being said they haven't faced a qb like oak hills and maybe a running back like oak hills the defense won't be able to stop the attack look for a score similar to last years

Question to Oak Hill fans: after this year will Oak Hill have a drop off back down to normal standards or will they be contenders again next year? I've never heard the whole story as to how they were able to go from awful to being able to contend for a regional title. Someone tell me a story. Is it just a cycle of players or is it the coaches or what?
