Tomorrow at 6:00 pm, 3 Time National Champion Kurt Roberts will be throwing the Shot in the Olympic Trials. Currently Kurt is #3 after the prelims and the top 3 go to the Olympics. Kurt competed in football, basketball and track at Athens High School winning the DII State Title as a Senior.

He was 6th heading into today (last day) ... he needs to get into the top 3.

Inside the cover of the Columbus Dispatch sports page there was a cool photo of Kurt making a toss.

Finished 5th with a throw of 68'1", great effort, and he has many more years in this sport as he's just a pup. Note this is the 1st time a throw of over 68' has not made the team. Great job Kurt.

Excellent effort! Wish NBC covered the field events with more depth; only showing the best result for the 3 Olympic qualifier. I can remember when the entire events were televised way back when.
