I think the Division I big school matchup between Whitmer and Moeller will be the closest game of the six.

Obviously I'm not going to put my picks down, but I will say that to me, the most interesting matchup is Coldwater/Kirtland. Two teams that are completely different but excel at what they do. Both undefeated, both public, and it's a rematch. Can't wait to get the games underway tomorrow!

1st game in the books, and what a game! Heck of a closing drive for NC, they nearly pulled it out.

Marion Local 28
NC 21

Thought for sure NC was going to put it in there on that closing drive. Amazing game.

HALFTIME - Clinton-Massie 33 - St. Clairsville 21
What a great game - both high-powered offenses, but great defensive play also.
If St. Clairsville [name of the town - it's a public school] is north of I 70, it's not by more than a mile or so [Belmont Co. across the Ohio River from Wheeling, WV] - these are both small-town southern Ohio public schools playing great football!! GO CLINTON-MASSIE

END OF 3RD QTR
Clinton-Massie 39
St. Clairsvile 28

2:00 left in 4th QTR
ST C scores + 2-pt conversion
Clinton-Massie 39
St. Clairsvile 36

C-M scores - PAT NO GOOD - 1:46
SCORE:
Clinton-Massie 45
St. Clairsville 36

GAME OVER - CLINTON-MASSIE WINS

What a game. Those are two excellent football teams. The effort from both squads was phenomenal. Congrats to Massie, and St.C, you should be very proud, you have nothing to hang your head about. You had a fantastic season and were in it right until the end!

The opening INT haunted St. Clairsville until the end. It really set up Clinton-Massie nice early on with a 12-0 lead, and then 19-0. Fantastic games today with one more to go.

Game 3, Day 1, is in the books.

TCC 16
Trotwood 12

Toledo's defense was outstanding tonight, the Ram's offense didn't make it past midfield until the 4th qtr. I had a feeling that the Irish would win this game, and they did. Hopefully, the three games tomorrow will be just as entertaining.

Three great games today! Got to see bits and pieces of all of them...really fun to see.

It's pretty rare for all the games to be so competitive. Hopefully tomorrow is more of the same.

Except I want SVSM to hammer Bellevue. Those guys cost me a chance at the SEOPS Picks Contest Championship. I'd be sitting good right now. :)

I honestly had Toledo CC, Clinton-Massie, and Marion Local today. I'm taking Whitmer, SVSM, and Kirtland in a really close one over Coldwater.

Div III
Akron SVSM 42
Bellevue 21
Announcers state "The last time SVSM won a State Championship was in 1988 when they beat Ironton 14 - 12." And they showed a brief clip of that game.

Div V - WOW
Coldwater holds on to beat Kirtwood 10 - 9
Coldwater seniors have played 60 games in 4 years - 10 regular season and 5 playoff games all the way to the final all 4 years. They have been runner-up the last 3 years, but they take home the championship this year. What a record!!!
I've heard some KY State playoff game scores of 50 odd point blow-outs.
All but one OH game has been by 10 or fewer points, and even the 20-point SVSM differential in Div III didn't develop til the 4th qtr - until then it was back-and-forth mostly even. Great games

Game turned out exactly how I thought that it would, and I'm glad that Coldwater didn't end up the bridesmaid four years in a row. I predicted a Kirtland victory, but I'm happy that Coldwater got the win, they deserved it. And caglewis, you are correct, these have been very good, competitive games, some of the best that I can remember in a long time. Now, Wahama needs to do their job up on Wheeling Island to make this a great weekend of HS football.

I fixed myself a big pot of chicken stew Fri morning and have kept it warm and available for the past 2 days. I love that our OH high school championship weekend is televised. I'm pretty much glued to the TV - I just go dip myself another bowl of stew at halftimes or between games.
I don't have a huge choice between Cincinnati Moeller and Toledo Whitmer, but I'll always root for the southern Ohio team over the northern. What great games all have been!! Love it!!

Div ! Cincinnati Moeller won 20 - 12
This has been such a GREAT tournament - all 6 Div with close, interesting, exciting final games!
