Your School's All-Time Team.

Post by THE G.O.A.T. »

This should be a lot of fun. Put together what is your opinion of your schools best players at each position onto one team. We will see who can build the most impressive team.
Running pro style offense with a Fullback and you can put two running backs, two wide recievers, and a tightend. On Defense run a base 4-3. Special teams KR, PR, K and P.

Players can play both ways.

PORTSMOUTH WEST:

Offense
QB- Brian Howell
RB- Trevon Pendleton, Terry Gardner
FB- Justin Cantrell
TE- Zach Evans
WR- Jeremiah Lens, ????
LT- Wayne Sparks
LG- Craig Bailey
C-????
RG- Brian McCormick
RT- Eric Sparks

Defense
DE- Zach Evans
DT- Mike Bricker
DT- Timmy Evans
DE- Scott Welch
OLB- Justin Cantrell
MLB- Trevon Pendleton
OLB- Justin Staggs
CB- Steve Mignery
CB- Bryson Williams
SS- Jerrod Pendleton
FS- Alfie Bricker

K- Kyle Auger
P- Dale Swords
KR- Dave Hamilton
PR- Jerrod Pendleton

Just my opinion.

Good thread, might have to rethink some later. Chillicothe, jmo from 60s to present. Offense QB, Greg Cook 64. RBs Joe Yager 64, Stacey Hitchens 74. FB Mike Doles 69. C i am still thinking about this one, Guards would be Mike Beatty 69 and Matt Whitley 87. Tackles Mike Walls 75 and Nate Eddy 98. TE Garin Veris 81 SE or WR Phil Beverly 98 Brad Bates 99. Kicker would be Drew Basil 09, Punter, Randy Lewis 76. Punt returner Denny Dailey 69 and Kick returner Stacey Hitchens 74 and Mike Fairrow 77. I am sure not all years are right, but close. Defense will come later. Carl Harris has to be in there at fullback too as he was a manchild somewhere around 86.

Alot of great players at Ironton no doubt hard to really just pick a first string lol do to the number of them.
But I would have to include Bobby brice on the list though he was only there for a short time he was a great running back quick and strong.
And at QB A.J. Edwards was a good one to.
just a lot of players to look at there but some good ones at least to pick from.

Ik, he played before all three schools came together but can't leave out one of the greatest hs rb's in the country. Number 1 in ohio and i think 5th in the nation for pts scored. he only played 8 games a year. Hard to leave out Chauncey from the 50s back. Three state titles

Kurt is still young. If he stays with it he will be on the U.S. team in 2016.

I don't care if they played in College or not, several great High School Athletes have played at Athens that have not went on to play in College.

Athens Bulldogs-
QB - Nathan White (might be making a Case as a Coach)
RB/WR - Chris Hewitt
FB - Matt Goodwin
WR/TE - Corey Champlin
WR - Lance Spires
OL - Brock Clonch, Elliot Niceswanger, Tyler Wren, Karl Brown,

LB - Jared Wren, Derrick Hewitt, Jon Bateman
DE - Karl Brown, Aaron Ransom
DL - Peter Kerber
DB - Jeremy Sebring, Chris Hewitt, Brad Hartley

K- Andrew Coble

*And these are just recent players,
Names like the Essex Brothers come to mind. I was always told stories about how good they were. Lictenstein is another,

Coaches - Don Eskey, Les Champlin, Ryan Adams

I thought you were an Athens guy? Your list above you mention that these guys did not play college ball. Nathan White played at Marietta, Goodwin played at St Joes?, Jared Wren and Hewitt played at Ohio University for sometime. And the Coble kid had a solid career at Marietta in baseball. And I cannot believe that Jack Goldsberry and Tim Adams were left off any Athens list.
