SEOAL: Logan (2-3) AT Portsmouth (1-4)
Logan travels to Portsmouth - likely for the final time - on Friday night to kick off Portsmouth's final season as a member of the SEOAL.
The Chieftains and Trojans had opposite experiences against arch-rivals on Friday night, with Logan topping Nelsonville-York 40-7 and PHS falling to Ironton 49-21.
Both teams have balance on offense and athletic receivers who make big plays while both defenses have struggled, especially against opposing running games.

Thought Portsmouth would be better this season, but they are still struggling.

Portsmouth losing Sky Oliver at QB for the season was a huge loss for them, they are playing a Freshman at QB. He's going to be a pretty good QB for them the next few years with the experience he's getting this year.

Logan gets off to a 1-0 SEOAL league start in this one, the loss of Sky Oliver to much to overcome against the Chiefs. The freshman kid gets some more reps and experience which will be good for the Trojans next year entering the OVC especially with the fact that they have some pretty good athletes returning as well.

Early week prediction! Be careful the Trojan's speed could hurt the Chiefs, but in the end, The score will be:
Trojans 21
Chiefs 45
Trojans 21
Chiefs 45

Logan is averaging 38 pts a game and now faces a weak Portsmouth D who also is missing their best O player, the QB. I'll say this one is Logan, 42-14 or worse. Farewell Portsmouth !
BTW, when the SEOAL was formed, Portsmouth would have been one of the largest schools in SEO , while Logan, pre-consolidation, would have been one of the smallest. Roles are reversed.

I like and respect both programs. glad to see Portsmouth is not getting disrespected for leaving the seoal as ironton did.ironton can schedule any and everybody now. and continually play one of if not the toughest schedules for a school their size anywhere in the state. love to see the Trojans win, for points for the fighting tigers who dismantled the Trojans. but don't really see that happening. and logan is starting to play good consistent ball again.good luck to both programs.

I DONT MIND THE TRAVEL. IF IM LEAVING FROM HOME. IF IM LEAVING FROM WORK (COLUMBUS) IT PRETTY MUCH SUCKS.
Re: SEOAL: Logan (2-3) AT Portsmouth (1-4)
I know what you mean 87! Yesterday I had to make a trip to Lewis Center at the very worst time.On the way back about 5:30pm it took me almost 45 minutes to go 1/2 mile trying to get off 270 onto 70 east Thank God I don't have to do that everyday!

Re: SEOAL: Logan (2-3) AT Portsmouth (1-4)
If Oliver is still out this one has no chance of being close. If Oliver plays, Portsmouth should score a few points. PHS is really down these past couple of years.

If he is the QB then he is done for the year!Pol Pot wrote:If Oliver is still out this one has no chance of being close. If Oliver plays, Portsmouth should score a few points. PHS is really down these past couple of years.
