WEEK 6 IRONTON(OPEN)-THEN FINAL 4 GAMES

Post by Trojan_Pride »

tigers need stay focused during this open week and prepare for these final 4 games, these next 4 games will not be anything like the last few we have played the opponents will be much better!!

i think 1 of the things getting over looked is how this tiger defense has become phenomenal since the burg game

defense has produced the following stats after burg game
1st downs = 12 per game average
rushing = 35-170 yds per game average
passing = 7-11-1 54yds per game average
total yds = 224 average per game

points per game 11.5 (1st string) add the 2nd string and it goes to (16.5)

we have a very good chance in playing week 11 at the tank!!!

remarkable defense effort!!!

I think the bye weeks for any team are crazy. Its football season, there should be no bye weeks.JMO
If a school cannot find a team to play, then the state should hook them up!

St. Charles plays DeSales this week and then plays Ironton next week.

If you are a Jackson fan the results of these two games will be interesting and you may be able to draw some conclusions about how Jackson stacks up against DeSales (they are same Region as us) after we play Ironton in Week 9.

Can't always predict a winner this way obviously because of match-ups and a lot of other reasons, but at least we can get some ideas.

If Jackson and DeSales keeps winning they both should make Region 9 play-offs and there is already talk about DeSales and Athens being the teams to beat. So it will be good to get a little idea from some common opponents as to how we might fare.

Right now I'd say the Fighting Tigers should be favored vs. Meigs and Raceland; a slight underdog to St. Charles; and a heavy underdog to Jackson.

IMO, Ironton will make the playoffs.

I hate open dates but this one could be a blessing for Ironton to get the rest they need to finish the season strong.
from what I hear and understand Ironton has no major injuries to speak of but the rest and extra prep time can most definitely be used when you have so many players going both ways like Ironton does.
So as bad as I hate bye weeks I think this one couldn't come at a better time for Ironton.

This team has really turned themselves around since the russell game, The line didn't impress me at all in that game, but since then its like seeing a different team on the field. I think we will win out with the exception of Jackson, witch might be a loss. I think we can still make the playoffs with two losses, hope so anyway. jmo go tigers.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this team stays healthy and continues to improve. The competition gets more consistently difficult over the last four games. The Tigers need to clean up the penalties (averaging over 6 and over 60 yards per game) and keep turnovers to a minimum. Hoping for a strong effort against St. Charles at The Tank.

Also, congrats to the Ironton High School students and staff on being named a 2014 NATIONAL BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL! Only 337 schools nationally achieved this distinction, and fewer than 100 of those were high schools. The other high school winners in Ohio were Columbus Academy, Perrysburg, Brookville, and Beloit West Branch. Not a single high school in either Kentucky or West Virginia won the award. That is an amazing achievement for a public school in small town nestled in the Appalachian hills of southeastern Ohio!

This will be an interesting match-up for us, and a difficult one. Two similar styles of play, two very physical styles of play. Looking forward to Week 9 glad it is a home game for us.

Good luck to the Tigers against St. Charles next week.

I see the fighting tigers beating st. Charles if we take care of the ball, limit penalties and tackle well.
