I look for a more Aerial Assault from the Dogs in this one.
Athens didn't throw many times against Gallia Academy, (and when they did) it almost always went for six...

This will be a huge test for this seasoned Athens Squad, a long trip on the bus, playing a program having success, almost feels like a play-off game...

*Sidenote-
I know it is hard to imagine, but the Athens Offense has become even better this season. I heard one of the Gallia Academy video guys mention on top of the press box, "Man, just pick your poison with that Offense. So many playmakers."

I just watched the Zanesville vs Newark replay on Time Warner ... and this will be a TOUGH game for Athens. I don't care how many starters they lost, they looked like they just reloaded. Big, fast and they run almost the exact same offense as Athens. 4-wide, no huddle - but their tailback is a bigger back with pretty good speed.

I'm guessing both teams could maybe break the 50-mark Friday.

I think Zanesville might be able to hold the score down a bit, but the Dogs still come out with a win in a close one....

Dogs 42
Zanesville 24

I think Athens should take this. Zanesville struggled with a 1-9(2013) Newark team.i think Zanesville might run some clock. Athens by 21 pts

That Newark team I just watched on T.V. was no 1-9 team.

Plus, Zanesville tuned the ball over 3 or 4 times in the 1st half alone, which kept it close.

Zanesville has a lot of talent but don't have a lot of experience and don't forget, they don't have a head coach because of recruiting violations.

Coach Granstaff has not missed a practice all season. He was not eligible to be on the sidelines this past Friday against Newark and it showed. A ONE game suspension only. With him back on the sidelines for the remainder of the season, it will make a huge difference.

Most if not all games involving ECOL schools have a start time of 7 pm regardless of what night they play. They moved the time up starting 2 years ago. MVL schools did the same thing this year except for 5 games.

7:00 is not real ideal for parents who work till 5:30 or 6:00. Zanesville is an hour drive, easy.

Maybe when they have an opponent who is over an hour away, do what the rest of the state does and start at 7:30.

Newark may be better than last year but I doubt they win more than 2 games. I think Athens wins going away.

The entire state, except SE has went to 7:00 start times. Too many 3+ hour games.

Newark is just an ok team. I saw the Newark game and Newark made big mistakes in there passing game that Borrow won't make.
A good team can run on Zanesville. Nice you give such credit to Athens defense. I don't think Z will put 50 on Athens.
Zanesville does have a good EP/FG kicker
