Thee 2014 Nelsonville-York Buckeyes

Post by Orange and Brown »

The kids are hitting the weight room and track, camps are in full swing and 7 on 7's are coming up soon.

FINALLY!!!

So what are your thoughts and predictions?
We all know that Athens is the team to beat and they have a class that is amazing, so let's not worry about them until week 10.

GO BUCKS GO!

Bucks return to normalcy this year and will be in the hunt for a playoff spot. If NY can beat Trimble in week 1, they'll be in great shape for the top 8 at seasons end.

Assuming this schedule is correct, I could see them as low as 5-5 (losing pretty much the same games as last year with the exception of Wellston) or as good as 7-3. In my opinion they land right in the middle at 6-4 and that isn't in any way a dig on this team, they have a pretty tough overall schedule. I think they will be much improved over last season with some real talent coming back with experience at the Varsity level, they will give even the best teams on their schedule a stiff challenge.

That schedule is correct. I think 7-3 sounds about right to me.
Their are 5 pretty tough games on the schedule.

Why do the Buckeyes _still_ play Berne Union?

Don't get much out of playing BU. I always though would be good to pick up a mvl team.

Trimble, Newark Catholic, Logan, Meigs, Wellston, and Athens are the tough ones. I see winning one of those possibly two. That is 5-5 or 6-4.

I agree, Burnt Onion doesn't do anything but pad stats.

If I am not mistaken, I believe the mvl has a deal worked out with another league for non league games.

Absolutely did miss them on the schedule posted above in a much too hasty post. Make that Trimble, NC, Logan, Meigs, Wellston, VC, and Athens. I see winning one of those possibly two. That is 4-6 or 5-5. :12223

Now all the NY fans can hate on me lol. But seriously that is a very tough schedule, getting out of the gate quick with a "W" against Trimble will be a key.

i will throw in my prediction at 7 wins. I think the youngsters got valuable experience last year and the Edwards boy is going to be a good one..

The core of this team is young but they gained a lot of experience last season.
Last season was an anomaly so look for the Buckeyes to come out strong.
I think 7-3 is about right but that depends on injury, and several other factors.

I can tell you that right now they are focused on week 1
Its all about Trimble.

The Buckeyes are reloaded so let's get it on Tomkittens!!!

They should play Amanda or Fisher. Even Fairfield Christian would be a goody!
