Alexander Spartans

Post by Alexander hitman »

From what I'm hearing in Albany these kids are pumped up !!
They seem to be buying in to the new coaches work ethic , attitudes are
Changing for the better. Coach Penrod has these boys excited and that helps
Sell the program to the parents , community and most of all the boys .....
Go Spartans !!

Spartan land you should be excited, you got a progressive young coach , who will not only challenge his team on the field , but more importantly challenge them in the class room! Congrats and good luck to coach penrod and the Spartans.
Embrace the 4 pillars .

not one bit suprised with the excitement coach Penrod will bring to that program. he will set a hard line for the kids, but will be positive all the way to see them achieve goals

Who's gonna be on staff there?

He's a good man and coach. I've got a lot of respect for Coach Arno and his accomplishments at Alex and I'm sure Coach Penrod will continue moving their program in the right direction

So Arno is at a new school? I wonder if he will ever coach at the new school since when he stepped down at Alexander he said he wanted to spend time coaching his own kid instead of other people's kids?

Didn't he step down because he wanted to spend more time with his family and to watch his daughter play whatever sport she plays?
I thought I read that in an article.........

He did make that statement about his two sons, no daughters , but he also had a loss
In his family around that time. I kinda figure he wouldn't be away long from coaching though .
He enjoys it to much to quit. But I think change is good and Coach Penrod will be a a great fit
For us. I like this guys style.

So your saying he didn't want to Coach football at Alex anymore............ and he wanted to keep his job until he was sure he could line something else up...

Penrod will do bigger things anyway so I guess it's a win win :)

I'm not saying anything O&B. just stating facts. I never heard that he didn't want to coach at Alex anymore. I think he wanted to get closer to where he was from .. So yea I guess maybe so lmao

Yes O&B, though it was not me you asked, I would say you are correct in your statements.

Most people at Alex seemed to like Arno or at least what he accomplished at the school early on and I will not dispute that he did some nice things in Albany. I also think that he basically tore down everything he built early on over the past couple of seasons for whatever reason, be it personal family issues or anything else, it just looked like the whole program was in disarray both on the field and on the sidelines. That being said, I think coach Penrod will be more than happy to find that the cupboard isn't as empty as last years 1-9 mark would indicate, kids like Mcgrath, Thompson, etc. have some nice skills and the Spartans usually don't have trouble with size up front, I think this coupled with the new found excitement and more physical attitude and play that coach Penrod will demand will lead to a pretty big turn around this coming season.

The Rio camp was last week, and it was a success. The boys had a blast
And learned a lot.
