Madonna 77 Wahama 50 but ...

Post by hardfowl »

... what happened in the second half has got to be a record.
Wahama scored four second half touchdowns on only one offensive play and that play didn't occur until around the 5:00 minute mark of the 4th quarter.
What a second half show by Kane Roush!
It went something like this:
Madonna took the opening KO of the second half and drove down for a score.
Kane Roush returned the KO 84 yards for a TD.
Madonna scores on their next possession.
Madonna then recovers an onside kick and drove down the field and scored.
Kane Roush returned the KO 84 yards for a TD.
Madonna scores on their next possession.
Madonna then recovered another onside kick and went down and scored.
Kane Roush returned the KO 74 yards for a TD.
After forcing Madonna to punt and on Wahama's first possession of the second half Kane Roush went 80 yards for a TD!!
Kane also had a 66 yard TD run and a 7 yard TD run in the first half. He had 10 rushes for 193 yards in the game.

Wyatt Zuspan had a 20 yard TD run that amazed everyone on the last play of the game to complete the White Falcon scoring.
All of this in very cold and snowy weather with the "first team" players for both squads playing the entire game.
Note: Starting QB Hunter Bradley left the game early and never returned. Possible broken collar bone. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers as well as starting tackle Tyler Nutter who also left the game injured and never returned.

Comis from Madonna rushed 26-267- 6 TD's. Stats had Roush 10-175.

I would dearly love to see a Madonna-Magnolia state title game in 'A'.

Saw where Magnolia RB Keller had 5 TD's and 301 yards rushing vs. Moorefield all out of the wildcat formation. Best 8-4 team going lol.

It really doesn't matter who Madonna plays in the championship game. They have a roster of boys that are bigger than most schools 5 times their size. Only reason the game was close with Steubenville catholic was madonnas qb was injured and they made a season full of mistakes in one game. Good luck to any public school that plays them.

yes they probably loaded up with some kids from nearby PA, but who knows. I did hear they had about 8 kids transfer over from Class AAA Brooke.

did see that the one lineman of Madonna was 6'10, 300 lbs.

Oh, only 1? I knew I shouldn't have listened to that ol' timer at the doctor's office the other day.

7'2 lineman. Heard that their offensive and defensive lines are about the biggest in state for single-A.

Madonna? Where is that? Only Madonna I know sang for a living!hard to get excited about WV football, not even on the same planet as Ohio football. Heck that is why WVU has to recruit so much out of state talent because they can't find D1players in their back yard!

Much if not most of Madonna's success comes at the demise of Weir High. Weir is down, Madonna is up. It mirrors the same problems at Bishop Donahue and John Marshall. Not to mention that Madonna seems to have a very good group of Athletes. Several years ago both Madonna and Bishop were struggling.

Perhaps a quality of education may be a contributing factor to the transfer of these student athletes.

YOU should! Lotsa WV and OH schools play against each other in many sports.

Now, how many local OH schools do U believe could beat Wayne, WV last year or this year? (Wayne 66, Peake 7 early on)
