What rules would you add or change?

So every year rules are changed added or sometimes done away with. I rarely have any issues with the rules, but ratuer how they are enforced at times.

So what rules if any would you like to see added?

I would like to see some of the holding calls done away with that isn't close to the play.
Blocks in the back should be changed some.

They changed the pass interference rule on both sides of the ball and that made me happy.

I would like to see you be able to return the ball out of the endzone on kickoffs and punts, etc. Give the player the option to take a knee if he chooses. I also think you should be able to return blocked pats for 2 points.

Go back to the old coaching box and allow coaches near the field. You now have sideline Nazi's more worried about where coaches are on the sideline than what is happening on the field.

Run the ball out of the endzone, and allow QB'S to throw out of bounds when out of the tackle box without penalty like in college and pros.

I think this rule change for this year could be interesting
"While the 15-yard penalty will remain for both offensive and defensive pass interference, the loss of down has been removed for offensive pass interference and the automatic first down has been eliminated for defensive pass interference."

So if a team has 4th and 17 from your 20, they throw a pass over 15 yards, you just knock down the receiver, take the 15 yard penalty and the ball!

I had to wrap my mind around that one myself! Boy the defensive team sure doesn't get penalized for a penalty it seems.

I'm not positive but i think. it would be 4th in 2 in that situation above on the pass interference. the other team does not get a automatic 1st down but they still would get to replay 4th down after the penalty.

You still will not be able to end a series, quarter, half or game after a defensive penalty. And many of you are ignoring the reason for many of these rules. Player safety.

If they want player safety they need to let the QB chuck it out of bounds when out of the pocket, instead of holding onto it and getting hammered because he's afraid of getting a penalty.

I agree 100% these are both good option as well as C-bolts suggestion of allowing the QB the option to throw away the ball when outside of the tackle box.

A QB can throw the ball away when out of the box, just has to be smart about it and loft it OB in the general area of a receiver, and most all pass plays has a sideline route associated with it.

You yourself said that the rules were for player safety. Outside the box he should be able to throw it anywhere to the sidelines without penalty. No reason to have your QB take a low shot to a knee or a horse collar. JMHO

The hurdleing rule should also be done away with.

Limit contact on kicking off by placing the ball on the 25 yard line after the live kick. Also on punt coverage limit contact as to where to ball is caught. Just food for though due to danger of concussions!
