That is correct. However, that game was at Wellston. The last Wellston win at Jackson was 1989.
You guys are lucky I didn’t play or, well it would’ve been the same result lol. Jackson had a mess of sophomores and juniors that went on to have nice careers at small colleges. Sophomore QB Michael Morgan was back up QB for 3 years at D2 Ferris St that made elite 8 all 3 years and final 4 once I believe.

Where did Buescher and Martin go to school?
Buescher went to west fall

Martin went to Ironton

Shadyside actually beat Green 21 to 14 in the regional finals that year, the flood was in the spring of 1990 , I think.

Didn’t the QB of that 89 and 90 Green team’s son led wheelersburg to a state title?
The QB for green in 89 was Jeremy Hughes, in 1990 it was Dusty Salyers

It would have been the 90 teams QB, but not sure.

Okay...I couldn’t remember for certain. I remembered something about Shadyside and a flood and knew Hughes was QB but thought I remembered him not playing a year or two because he didn’t like the coach but that may have been basketball. It was the ‘90 season we lost to Newark Catholic at Waverly, right?

Yes, I went to Green but I was only 11 at that time. I had an older brother in the class of ‘91 but he didn’t play football.

That 2010 game was really a lot closer than the final score. It actually should have been 19-13 since as we all know Jackson was down 14 before they stepped off the bus.

Have Trimble and Green ever played regular season games? I know the programs have been on different levels for the past several years, but even before then...have they ever played.

Green has played Trimble a few times regular season. Green won at home against Trimble breaking a long losing streak. Something like 31 games. That was around 1999. I went to Trimble to watch Green right after that and Trimble was up like 48-0 at half or so. My only trip to Trimble’s old stadium..

That would be a good series to get restarted once the Bobcats get some consistency in their program.
