Gallia Academy 38 River Valley 0

Post by MisterGalliaGuy2016 »

With the Community Bowl (copyright pending) (brought to you by Ohio Valley Bank) set to end for the foreseeable future after this matchup, it's set to be a long time before these two county rivals meet again on the football field.

Gallia Academy has dominated the last two matchups between the two. Does River Valley end the series on a high note? Or do the Devils continue their winning ways?

My pick? Gallia Academy by whatever they want to score.

Not convinced..injuries plagued rv but they played smash mouth against a smash mouth coal grove team..lightning delay killed momentum..excited for this one

They had like 30yds rushing against Coal Grove! I wouldn’t consider that smash mouth football!

Maybe I should have not used that term..but this is not the same rv team I saw last year..they aren’t afraid to get after it..sure they were out skilled tonight and coal groves oline and d line were pretty dominant..they didn’t lay down and I was impressed by that alone..again I’m excited for the game

No contest in this one, Gallipolis by many. (Very few if any computer points from RV this year for GAHS)

This one will be a running clock in the 2nd half. Gallia has more speed and skilled players than Coal Grove. Gallia O line and D lines are bigger and more athletic than Coal Grove.

Next year you play Western Brown week 2. I think someone said Jackson has week 3 open next year

Should be close and a good game for the finale.

I second bringing back the Ironmen in the coming years. Maybe try to move Point Pleasant to week 2

Curious. Does a GA win over Point Pleasant equate to playoff points? If so, how does that work, with PPHS being a WV school?

I'm not sure, but playing Point may hurt us. If others in our region are playing Ohio schools out of conference, I would think they would get the nod.

I'd like to see a Logan, Athens, Waverly, Alexander, or Jackson(but those kids are afraid of mud) to fill our non conference schedule. If RV would become competitive again we could always play them in the Jamboree game.

I would never schedule Athens as by butt still hurts over them leaving the old SEOAL. I know, I know, Gallia Academy left as well. But that was way after the damage was done and the bleeding could not be contained.
