Piketon 38 - 56 Paint Valley

Post by Bumpy »

It will be interesting to see how the PV offense can implement somewhat of a passing game without long time starting QB Newland, pretty sure he has started every game since the middle of his freshman season. Piketon probably going to load the box and make PV beat them through the air.

Run run run for PV. I think even if Piketon loads the box PV will still be affective running the ball. This one will be a tough game for Piketon. Tough 4 week stretch for them to start league play. Wishing them luck the rest of the way.

Hate to hear about PV QB, I heard he was carted off what was the injury and how is he? Piketon has played some teams early that are just play tough in the trenches, this game will be no different PV by 4 scores.

Look for a 2-2 spread with jet motion and straight wildcat from pv. Piketon qb is very impressive to me he took a lot of shots and stayed in and completed balls. If I was the streaks I would let that kid throw every time and play straight man on def and just bring everyone.

Piketon had a decent passing attack against Unioto, just couldn’t get the ball to the middle of the field for some reason because Unioto left middle of field wide open and yes the Qb took some big shots, won’t last all year taking those !

I wasn't aware of the QB getting hurt. Is he out for the rest of the year? Sorry for any kid to have a serious injury.

Yes they did, it was great. Attendance was probably 1500. Playoff like atmosphere, when I got there and looked at the 70 or so WF players compared to the 33 PV players I thought we were gonna take an asswhoopin. We played well for out of shape has beens and won 30-21 it was worth the drive and 10 dollar ticket.

That's pretty awesome. School sponsored game?

Not completely school sponsored, but WF & PV had to tie some things together to make it work. The company ( can't think of the name of it off hand ) does several of these alumni games across the country each season. They appear to target successful programs that have a rivalry thats attractive. Usually they pick the bigger schools ( D1,D2 ) because of the better chance at selling more tickets I assume. Glad they selected a small school rivalry this time, the SVC in the 80's 90's 00's was usually decided between WF & PV.

Piketon played pretty strong against us this past Friday. I don’t feel the score was indicative of how close the game was into the 3rd qtr. I like Piketon building off that and coming up with a huge upset at home

Piketon 30
PV 27

"NOT SO FAST", still to many horses in the stable for PV, now they'll have a week under their belt preparing the new QB and new game plan to go with it. Piketon with a bit of a disadvantage here in not knowing much about the new QB and how PV will call the game. PV still just to much up front for Piketon to handle. PV should take it by 3-4 scores unless piketon shows some major improvements which they haven't up until this point.

I think it comes down to a late field goal and the exchange student rugby player nails it from;0 yards to seal it for the streaks!

Nope, not at all but that formally won them a SVC title and 1st round playoff game last year. Knowing it is one thing, stopping it after they've returned everyone is another.
