Vinton County 20 - 0 Wellston

Post by 2Time »

The 7-2 Rockets travel to 4-5 Vinton County for a huge rivalry. As we all know records don’t matter here. VC hopes to play spoiler, as Wellston hopes to cap off a memorable season with a win more than likely giving them there first playoff birth since 2006. VC has dominated recently with 6 in a row after losing 6 straight before that. Thoughts on this one?

Should be a good one, the Rockets I'm sure hope that they get off to a better start than what they did tonight. The records for either team don't mean a thing for this one.

Is #11 for Wellston out? Thought I heard on radio tonight he didn't play vs meigs? If so and he doesn't play then I give the slight edge to V.C.

Rylan came out of the game around the end of 1st quarter last night, small limp but stayed dressed and ready to go on the sideline after being looked at. I think the coaches didn’t feel the needed to risk it so he stayed out the remainder of the game. Haven’t heard much else so I will assume he is back come Friday.

Wellston looking to end their losing streak against the Vikes and first 8 win season since 2002 and first playoff birth since 2006. Vikes at home on Senior Night looking to play spoiler and to continue their winning streak against the Rockets. Molihan possibly being out will definitely affect Wellston especially on defense but VC being a run heavy attack may minimize the affect because of Wellston having such a strong front seven. Offensively Wellston will still have Garvin, Smith, Kemp, Brown, Frisby, and Patton as weapons and also has one of the best O-lines in the TVC Ohio with Bodey, Wilbur, Warnock, Eggers, and Howell. IMO slight edge goes to Wellston.

If wellston were to lose, what does it do to their playoff hopes?

If Minford beats Valley they’d pass Wellston

Wellston would still get a lot of second level points as many of the teams they have beaten are playing terrible teams....but basically Wellston fans need to be fans of Valley if Wellston loses to VC

Sorry, I thought Wellston was 8th but they are 7th

If Wellston loses they need 2 of the following to happen to stay top 8:

Waverly to beat Oak Hill
Valley to beat Minford
Heath to beat Johnstown Monroe

Heath is 7-2 and JM 5-4, even with a win JM might not pass Wellston

Edit: I don’t think JM winning will catch Wellston if Wellston loses...Wellston just needs a Waverly or Valley win

Rockets just needs to TCB against VC. Then the only question will be their playoff seeding.

Wellston needs to win to avoid Ironton or Ridgewood. I know whomever they play it will be tough. Wellston and VC are both very capable of winning this game. Wellston beat NY 36-7 while VC lost to NY 34/20. Wellston lost to Athens 34/18 while VC lost 33/28 and should have beat Athens. Comparing scores doesn’t help in this one. The winner of this one, will be the team that plays together with the most effort and least mistakes. I think it will be a great game. I am rooting for the Rockets but it is going to be a tough game.

I think the top 8 are set. Well Minford and oak hill will switch spots. Johnstown-Monroe won’t have enough points to get a spot. I think Wellston 6 Portsmouth 7 and Minford 8

That’s correct. I used Wellston winning but for Portsmouth sake I hope they don’t.
