Post by ohbuckeye2 »

The Fighting Tigers take on the Generals of Ridgewood for the Region 19 Title, thoughts?

Where will this game be played?

Ironton cannot compete if they perform as they did tonight.
This was even a more miserable performance like the only loss of the season to arch -rival Ashland, KY in OT.
The difference this time was the Tigers have improved vastly offensively and have so many weapons to use & of course they won!

6 turnovers and double digit turnovers by the FighTing Tigers tonight is just mind blowing to still win and advance!

I sure hope this is a wake up call like the Ashland loss was!

Tigers played lights out after that.

They’ll have to do the same to even think about advancing...

Good luck FighTing Tigers.

Ridgewood with an impressive outing tonight against the Burg. Good luck to both. My guess could potentially be Athens or Logan?

This one should be an incredible ballgame.

Ironton 11 Regional Titles

Ridgewood 1 Regional Title.

I agree with physical part of ironton but ridgewood doesn’t lack in that part. Their offense reminds me of Kenton with mauk back in the day or cold water about three years ago. Defense is pretty good too. Ball control for ironton will be key.

Ironton will be ready to go. Too much physicality.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but it may be Lancaster again. Where a team has played previously has no bearing on the neutrality of a site. Lancaster has the capacity to host this. Logan may also, but did Logan put in a bid to host for the postseason? Lancaster isn’t perfectly “in the middle”, as in it is not equidistant, but that’s not a requirement and it isn’t significantly closer to Ridgewood than it is for Ironton.

Easy there ironton runs exactly what Woods defense is best at. Mathews 13 carries for 14 yards word on the street.

They do not. Play it at Logan

We beat Amanda inspite of ourselves by having a better players. Penalties and turnovers against a team like Ridgewood could be disastrous.
Hopefully Tigers can tone that part of their game down, because they are a very good football team that can beat Ridgewood. It should be a great game between evenly matched teams. Good luck Tigers, bring the region title home.

Since 2000, Ironton has been to 5 regional championships, including this one. All four have been in close or heart broken fashion. Is this the year that the Tigers get back to State?

Yeah not bad. Stayed til the end. Ridgewood was better. They are good. Going to take a great game for ironton. Ironton can do some things to make it interesting but ridgewood is a state contender.

I know going into the playoffs Jackson was slated to host a week 12 and a week 13 game.

Typically when a team has a ton of fumbles it’s often much improved the next week.

Ironton doesn’t feature a back like Matthews.

They’ve got a very diverse backfield comprised of about 5-very big backs that Have the ability to get it done!

Then there’s Salyers, the QB, who has completely lit up the scoreboard lately.

I know West Lafayette Ridgewood will be our biggest challenge, no doubt.

Next week is a clean slate & this tiger fan knows anything can and will happen!

We had nearly as many penalty yards as our opponent did in offensive yards in early 4th quarter and still got the W.
It was never really close & perhaps the best medicine Ironton could’ve asked for.

If we would’ve scored all the times we were on route to doing so, instead of fumbling, or racking up penalty miscue yards, it would’ve been a hideous running clock and the boys wouldn’t have had to push as hard or perhaps be a bit care free for preparation this week.

The messy play is either a blessing in disguise or not!
