No. The Rockets held a strong Jackson team to a 17 point difference. The passing game became very predictable and was easy to defend.
I don't think getting to the QB in under 2 seconds each play is simply because your offense is predictable...

Not sure, but I don't think they played with an offensive line. I think Vinton County had like 8 sacks that game. Not even sure Wellston had over 100 yards on offense.
Always so easy to blame the O-line. Didn't help that the QB held onto the ball too long and took big sacks instead of throwing it away and also missed 3 wide open receivers that at least 2 would have went for td's and 1 would have been for big yardage and a potential score. And threw a pick inside the VC 11.

I thought the RB went to the hospital week 9 vs Meigs and didn’t play against VC... did I dream this?

I don’t know what happened the week before, but when I watched the game, their good RB, #11 Molihan, played the whole game. Something like 22 carries for 40 yards. The other RB, Garvin, had negative yardage. If they would’ve beat vc, they most likely would of been #7 seed and faced Wheelersburg, so they played their best.

Hsfbfan, I would have to agree on the game events. But in defense of the quarterback, wellston started a new offensive scheme last year. The quarterback was left little options as the roll out left/ right is what he was asked to do? I didn't see ANY game time coaching or changes for him all season. So I would assume the Head Coach was happy with the results? When there is an adequate Quarterback Coach on staff ,why was the kid not coached up at game Time and through the season.

Yeah for now, until you deal with the same problems and frustration during the season...

Only wellston fans would watch a team make the playoffs and then Bee-itch about how they got there. The clock is ticking. You will run these guys off too. Where are all the chunky moms at the board meeting? Maybe wellston ironman can shed some light on the climate there.

Wellston is super excited about football. They are not going to run Coach Smith off. I am sure he will make adjustments for 2020. We had the same offense that rolled over some good teams. I don’t think we need to make excuses for losing to VC.
They played a very good game.

I don't think weight room attendance has ever been a problem in Wellston. They always have strong physical kids. Most of their issues have been with not having speed.
I think that is changing.

I agree. But I was more interested to see if there’s been increase in numbers now the new coach has had a chance to get some kids out that haven’t before.

Wellston’s problem has always been speed. Wellston and VC do have good lines
