2021 Too Early Rankings

Post by SWHITE2002 »

With 2020 about over, who returns what for 2021? How would you rank them locally?

Northwest has to replace 3 lineman. Hopefully we get away from the bunched up wing stuff and spread it out.
With one of the easiest schedules in d-5 they should win alot of games. Going to depend on who plays and how much work they put in.

Based off of what I saw and what I think they have returning I'm gonna start with
Jackson
Ironton
Wheelersburg
West
Waverly

Fairland went far in D6. But don't know how much of that was team and how much of that was region. Same with Valley. What does Wellston return?

Portsmouth loses all the offensive line and quite a few seniors but Pendleton was a sophomore and the best player on both sides of the ball. Roe comes back for his senior year. They have a lot of work to do filling spots but after a 2-7 record it can’t get much worse. I predict 5-5 next year. Weight room is a must and kids need to get in shape and stronger and that will take doing a lot on there own. If they want success they will do it. Valley and west are first 2 games and they are improved. Ironton will be loaded. Gallia should be good. Fairland not sure. Some good underclassmen got a lot of playing time. Can’t use inexperienced as a excuse next year. Also I think the lattimore kid will be a really good receiver.

Take Waverly out of that list. They will struggle.

Jackson has Winters at quarterback who is good. I think they will be solid

Futhey may stay at receiver for his development but he may be the best option at quarterback for Waverly. I still think they'll be solid

Waverly's junior class is strong. They will have a really good backfield. The coaching staff has done a great job up there. They will be pretty solid.

Trimble and Fort Frye will probably be the top area teams. They are the safe pick to go the deepest in the playoffs for SEO

What’s wrong with that? They are still SEO schools. Lol. After all, this is a Southeastern Ohio site.

I still think it is Waverly and Burg on top of SOC II next year. Waverly will find and develop a QB, whoever that may be. I just don't think other teams have the athletes to stay with a more experienced Futhey and Morrison. Harris will be a year older and I can see him becoming one of the best backs in the area.

They are the only two schools that will be state title contenders next year. The two best teams in SEO

I mean D5 is the weakest division in Ohio. No MAC or Catholic powerhouses. Marion Local in D7 didn’t even get to state and they would be the favorite in D5

Trimble loses 2 seniors who started both ways, so technically returning 18 of 22 starters

Shoemaker will probably be main back won't he. I think Hurd will be a good one also.

I think all 3 will get playing time or compete for most carries.
