Former players and schools that played in OH North/South All-Star Game

Post by countywide35 »

With Reid Carrico from Ironton and Gavin Hunt from Fairland being selected to play in the OH North/South All-Star game. What other local schools have sent players to play in this prestigious game....list schools snd players.

I know Jackson sent Erik Davis to play in the OH North / South Gane in 1998. Erik was also selected to play in the Big 33 Classic that same year. Erik is the father of Jackson’s Treylan Davis who is a WVU commit snd will be early enrolled in just a few short days.....

I want to say Logan’s Joey Conrad was selected as well. LoganLocas would know 100%. And what year..maybe 1999/2000??

From Logan (incomplete):

Mel Adams - Coach (South) - 1965 [Adams is an Oak Hill grad]

Patrick Angle - QB - 2009-10

Jon Neff - DE - 2008-09

Alex Wallace - OL - 2007-08

Joey Conrad - QB - 2000-01

Justin Culbertson - OL - 1998-99

John Cosgrove - RB - 1994-95

Ron Rutter - OL - 1968-69

Chuck Kemper

Bill Westfall - E - 1966-67

John Gasser - DB - 1965-66

George Hummel - HB - 1964-65

Robbie Johnson - LB - 1963-64

Eddie Joe Grandy - HB - 1952-53

Brooks Burris (1993-94) and participated in the old Big-33 Ohio/PA game. It was played around the same time period and players could only compete in 1 of the 2 events. I believe the Big 33 was the more "prestigious" of the two at that time. Burris played at Ohio State.

I think Logan has some others but these are the ones I can confirm right now.

Grant Gregory (Athens) was the MVP. Went for 8-14 for over 200 yards. Ted Ginn also played in that game

It’s sad no one cares about these anymore. The Big 33 game with Grant Gregory and Ted Ginn had close to 20,000 people there. Grant had a 80 yard TD pass to Ginn. Ginn was a man amongst boys

I am one of the few who still attend these games.
My plan is 10-12 if we have them this season.

Jackson's Jared Humphreys played in the '05 game and, I believe, was named offensive MVP.

If he’s not the best QB to come through Jackosn. He sure shares the #1 spot....awesome athlete and a pure technician at running the mid-line option offense. If you want a Qb to run it there is none better than Jared.....1993 VC regional runner up team had Andy Booth runnin that offense that not even the officials knew where the ball was......Jared was better then that...special
