Your school's schedule if goal was highest attendance possible

Post by NYBuckeye96 »

If you had to plan a ten game schedule for your home school, and the ultimate goal was to play ten teams that led to the highest fan attendance possible, what ten schools would you play?

In other words, what ten schools would see your home fan base turn out in high numbers *AND* the opposing school would bring a large crowd of fans with them as well.

Since only half the games would be home games, assume this will be a two year schedule, with half the games home the first year and the other half home the second year.

I'll do Trimble because I'm bored.

Week 1: Nelsonville-York
Week 2: @ Newark Catholic
Week 3: Danville
Week 4: @ Amanda-Clearcreek
Week 5: @ Shadyside
Week 6: Fort Frye
Week 7: Sheridan
Week 8: @ Jackson
Week 9: @ Zanesville
Week 10: Licking Valley

I know this is a tough schedule, but these are some of the teams I thought of and travel most of their fan bases.

Week 1: @ Nelsonville-York
Week 2: Paint Valley
Week 3: Shadyside
Week 4: @ Fort Frye
Week 5: Lucas
Week 6: @ Ironton
Week 7: @ Portsmouth West
Week 8: Portsmouth
Week 9: Tri-Valley
Week 10: @ Ridgewood

I know this is another tough schedule, but, as I said above, a lot of these teams have their fans come to every game.

Lancaster
Jackson
Nelsonville-York
Sheridan
Tri-Valley
New Lexington
Athens
Teays Valley
Grove City
Parkersburg

Tried to keep it somewhat realistic. Lancaster/Jackson/NY have consistently brought big crowds and have also had good Logan support for away games.

Same for Sheridan/Tri-Valley/New Lex.

Athens always draws a great Chieftain crowd either place, they aren't the best "travelers" but have a good home crowd.

We've never played Grove City or Parkersburg - but both have great old BIG stadiums, aren't awful trips, and have great fan bases.

Honestly didn't think about VC - that would be a huge gate for Logan (and the Vikings) IMO. I should have put them on my list.

I’ve been saying for a few years now that this should be the jamboree game for both schools. Makes too much sense from a moneymaking standpoint! Basketball games are cash grabs so may as well trade some football money too!

For Zane Trace I would go with:
1. Logan Elm- always a good game and big gate
2. Circleville - just should be played
3. Amanda Clearcreek - why not
4. Waverly - who cancelled this game?
5. McClain - good for both schools
6. Hillsboro- always thought this would be a good series
7. Westfall- have had some classics
8. Unioto - pretty intense rivalry
9. Paint Valley - cant seem to beat them but they always bring a huge crowd
10. Chillicothe- just for the Hinton connection and were only about 5 miles apart

Idk who exactly didn’t renew the series with Waverly. But I think Waverly was wanting to beef up their schedule a little more and play better competition for playoff purposes. Not throwing shade at ZT, but in their last four meetings vs each other the total combined points were 170-34 in favor of Waverly. So just doesn’t make sense to play each other right now, not doing either team much good.

Completely understand that move by Waverly and was tough watching those games!

From Wellston’s list, I would add Minford and Portsmouth West and maybe drop Logan and Waverly?
