West BOE Approved Turf

Post by Westfan »

West BOE voted in some nice facility upgrades including Turf last night. With their new Lockerroom, Weightroom, Indoor Hitting/Practice Facility, and now Turf, West will have some of the nicest facilities around.

Yes Minford is the only one.

Good to see the improvements. Good year to show it off too. Hearing really positive things about the team. They will contend for the league and have a nice run in the playoffs.

Good to hear, once NW comes back into SOC2, Minford will be the only team without the turf. I had heard they were trying to get it but it hadn't gained much traction.

Good to hear. Are they planning to have it finished for this upcoming season?

That's great. The field now has such a crown on it, they'll have to haul a bunch of dirt out.
It would be nice to get rid of the track and add some more bleachers. That would probably be too expensive.
Northwest looked into tearing out the old track and putting in a new one in a different location. I was told it was going to cost around 750,000 for what they was wanting to do.

Part of the project is a new track and tennis courts
I guess the track will go back where it is but I don't know for sure

Will the field be lined/used for soccer also?

Just a thought. What if the track was built on the existing soccer field area, then move the turf field and visitor bleachers closer to the stands on home side. Thoughts?

I'd love to see it,but I don't think it'll happen. It's great having the stands close to the action.
