There’s been some great games in this series:

2013: Oak Hill 22 Wellston 15. Wellston was up 8-7 at Halftime. Oak Hill scored 15 points in about 3 minutes and Wellston came right back to score 7 points. The fourth quarter was the battle of field position. Oak Hill has a chance to seal the game and can’t convert on 4th and 1. Wellston takes over and moves the ball 70 yards in less than a minute. Game ends by a throw into the end zone batted down by the defense. Brandon Wolmedorf (Wellston) and Garrin Stiltner (OH) combine for over 500 yards in a great matchup of QB’s.

2010: Oak Hill 21 Wellston 8: a game of “what if.” Prater for Wellston was injured. Wellston was extremely physical throughout the game. Oak Hill picks off Osborne three times (all Jesse Slone). If Prater is healthy for this game, OH has more of a dog fight than they already did.

2000: Oak Hill 23 Wellston 22. Oak Hill’s Chris Delaney has a scoop and score of at least 50 yards. This was a major upset by Oak Hill.

If you go back and look at every year Oak Hill beats Wellston, they seem to have a very good year. Wellston has had some very fine clubs throughout the past century. Some of the bigger names are Lance Phillips and Brad Young, the latter being probably the best RB in the history of Wellston football.

GRfan for sure Howard is from Oak Hill or Wellston, but is connected to the latter? I am sure Oak Hill appreciates the support. But nothing from the horses mouth though. For sure the fodder has been spread.

This game is a win-win for both schools. Wellston benefits from playing a more suitable week 1 opponent and a good gate. Oak Hill benefits from a travel and rivalry standpoint.

Didn't Delaney come back and coach at Oak Hill a few years after he graduated? I know he coached Jr. High at Gallia for at least one year.

For anyone that may not be able to make the game, BMG Media will be live streaming this game and all other Wellston football games this year.

Is the school/athletic deparment getting a cut of the revenue?

Absolutely. We pay a fee set by the school, we did the same last year as well.

That's good. Could see a school push away a company like BMG Media due to the loss of gate money because of the convenience of watching from home.

Letsbget back to the game
First I think wellston should be embarrassed for playing a subpar school like oak hill. Do you have any standards in rocket nation?

Who would you suggest the Rockets play ?

I’m in disagreement that Oak Hill is a subPar program.
