speedkillz/chilli dawg, who's your team?
I may have missed and probably did, but what is the situation with Trevon Carter not being able to play? I know that he is not only talented, and is being looked at by a lot of D-1 schools, but I realize that he has not played ( I don't think ) at all so far this season.

He left team. Not sure why. Doesn’t matter at this point

He had a torn labrum, I believe recently had surgery, so he was unlikely to contribute for a while anyways. For sure won’t be contributing in 2021 now though. Hopefully he fully recovers and is playing somewhere in 2022.

We're not allowed to discuss it.

Its "privacy" and "we dont rebuild we reload" and "the factory" and "next man up." Except for when a d6 ovc team almost embarrasses ya in ya own house then its a valid excuse again.

Thank you. I honestly did not know, just knew that he had not been playing.

Thanks frankie. I really did not know. I kept waiting for someone to talk about it. He would be a very big loss for the Tigers, both on offense and defense.

That’s great but if they re took the team picture because of him leaving like what was reported on this site, the coach should publicly apologize. Or at least explain

My question is how is Ironton playing close games that they easily could’ve and in one case should’ve lost at home with all the talent and size they have?

Ironton is a good football team. I have doubts they are close to what they had past two seasons. Right now they’ve beat three good teams with a little luck on two of the games.

SWHITE2002,
One man's opinion...
1) Very undisciplined play - *numerous unforced errors, including many, many penalties
*Twice we have not gotten out of the way of the ball when returning punts - resulting in turnovers (one gave Jackson their lone TD)
2) Questionable decisions regarding offense - *Pro I formations necessitate that you manhandle teams up front (which they aren't doing)...same thing with the T formation. *Head-scratching playcalling (at least for me)
3) Injuries (yes - I know - they are part of the game) - *Carpenter and Keyes and Carter

Again...just my opinion.

1. Injuries are part of the season. Burgs best TE will miss entire season from first scrimmage.
2. Two of burgs starters have been out. Both will be back this week. One may have played last Friday.
3. If you’re good, you shouldn’t have problem moving the ball most of the time.
4. Penalties can be cleaned up. I expect them to get better.

Carpenter is hurt, but the guy they have is a better athlete.
I’ll just say if other coaches in the area has two thirds of the talent that Ironton has the naysayers would be out

He may be. But carpenter can sling it. I remember him in Junior high.

Why did the team retake an entire team photo because of an injury? That seems strange.

So he did or did not leave the team?
Because this sounds like injured, out for season, will return next season.
So why the new photos?

The better athlete throws more picks than TDs.

Never was a lot of clarity on this "injury/resignation huh? Why do none of you have the guts to ask these questions?
